LaMelo Ball has been simply amazing to start this season, averaging 31.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.1 minutes over 18 games. Unfortunately, he injured his calf at the end of Wednesday’s game in Miami and has been ruled out for Friday’s contest against the New York Knicks.
The Hornets also play on Saturday with another game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, so there’s an elevated chance that he misses the next two games.
Ball leads the NBA with a 39.6% usage rate, so whoever ends up starting in his place will have a massive opportunity for volume. Keep an eye on Vasilije Micic.
