Breece Hall ($7,500) missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury and there is a chance the back is out this Sunday vs. the Seahawks. Missing practice after a bye week is obviously concerning for Hall and, if he is inactive, there will be a large void in the Jets’ offense.
This season, Hall is averaging 13.8 carries per game — which is 69.7% of New York’s running back carries — while logging 77.1% of the snaps. This snap share ranks fourth among all running backs and Hall also ranks fourth at his position in target share (16.2%).
Braelon Allen ($5,000) has been Hall’s direct back up this season and, if the latter is out, Allen should take on a featured role as the Jets’ top back.
The rookie is averaging a modest 3.7 YPC this season, but Allen has produced a solid 0.32 FPTS per snap and 0.82 FPTS per touch. Furthermore, when given a decent opportunity, the back has produced decent numbers. In the five games Allen has touched the ball at least eight times, he is amassing 9.7 FPTS per game.
15-plus touches would be a realistic expectation for Allen if Hall is inactive and this is a solid matchup, with Seattle giving up the eighth-most yards per rush (4.8).
Allen will bring great upside in this spot if Hall sits, and not only will Allen be a compelling RB3/FLEX play for season long leagues in that situation, the rookie will be a standout DFS value play at only $5,000 on DraftKings.
