Is Parker Washington a good value play in Week 13 if Trevor Lawrence returns?

Is Parker Washington a good value play in Week 13 if Trevor Lawrence returns?

Trevor Lawrence ($5,400) has missed two games in a row with a shoulder injury, but the quarterback will practice Wednesday, giving Lawrence a strong chance to return this Sunday vs. the Texans.

Mac Jones ($4,900) has struggled as Lawrence’s replacement, averaging 124.5 passing yards per game and 4.9 yards per pass in these past two starts. As such, Lawrence’s return will certainly be a boost for the Jaguars’ passing game. This season, the quarterback is averaging a career-best 7.3 yards per pass.

While Lawrence will likely be back under center this Sunday, Jacksonville will be without Gabe Davis (knee), which should result in an expanded role for Parker Washington ($3,900). With Davis inactive and Lawrence active in Week 9, Washington caught three of his six targets for 41 yards against the Eagles and their league-best defense (7.1 FPTS). In that game, Washington ranked second on the team in target share (20%) and route rate (85%).

The receiver gets another tough matchup this Sunday, with Houston giving up the third-fewest yards per pass (5.9), but Washington is underpriced for his expected new role. The wideout doesn’t have great upside, but a performance of double-digit FPTS is possible for Washington and he is a decent punt play if in need of salary relief.
