Giannis Antetokounmpo injury update for Tuesday vs. Heat

UPDATE 6:32 p.m. ET: Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) has been ruled out of Tuesday’s contest against the Miami Heat.

Last minute changes on the injury report are never fun. Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo has been downgraded from probable to questionable due to a left knee effusion and is at risk of missing tonight’s matchup vs. the Miami Heat.

Initial reports had Antetokounmpo probable due to a left calf strain, but an hour before tip off, the team announced his injury extends to more than just his calf.

The Bucks’ forward has been an absolute dominant force so far in the 2024 season, leading the league in points per game (32.4), adding 11.9 boards per game and an average field goal percentage of 60.8%. With Khris Middleton (ankle) out and Taurean Prince (illness) a last-minute go for tonight’s game, Antetokounmpo’s absence would greatly boost Damian Lillard’s production while Brook Lopez would have to be dominant cleaning up the glass.
