Just when it looked like Embiid was ready to rock and roll, another speed bump emerges from the gravel. After playing 33, 31 and 35 minutes over the last three games, Embiid was ruled out for Friday’s game against the Nets due to swelling in his left knee. He will also miss Sunday’s game against the Clippers as well.
Next week, the 76ers only play two games; Wednesday against the Rockets and Saturday in Detroit.
Andre Drummond will replace Embiid in the starting lineup. In the prior nine starts, Drummond averaged 9.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 26.2 minutes per game.
