Do you have tough lineup decisions to make Sunday? I’ve got you covered.
Welcome to your one-stop shop for Week 12 fantasy football start/sit advice. In this article, I’ll highlight one pick from each of my positional start ’em, sit ’em articles for this week’s slate. Check out each article for a deeper dive into that position!
Quarterback
Start ‘Em: Justin Herbert (Chargers) vs. Ravens
After failing to score 15 fantasy points over the first seven weeks of the season, Herbert has burst onto the scene in his last four games. The star racked up at least 19 points in each of those contests, including a 24.4-point performance against the Bengals last Sunday night.
While Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman still want to run the ball, Herbert has made the most of his passing attempts, also providing unexpected value on the ground. This week, he’ll take on Baltimore in the Harbaugh Bowl. The Ravens allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing signal callers, making Herbert a solid QB1.

Running Back
Sit ‘Em: Chuba Hubbard (Panthers) vs. Chiefs
Typically, you don’t sit a guy who has racked up at least 21 PPR points in back-to-back games.
However, this Chiefs run defense is not to be trifled with. Kansas City allows the fewest fantasy points to opposing backs by a sizable margin and the third-fewest rushing yards per game. Hubbard is undeniably Carolina’s best offensive playmaker, but considering Jonathon Brooks’ impending debut and game script likely working against the 25-year-old back, it’s best to leave him on your bench in favor of a better option.

Wide Receiver
Start ‘Em: Josh Downs (Colts) vs. Lions
Like many fantasy managers who roster Downs, I was concerned about Indy’s quarterback switch back to Anthony Richardson after the speedster had developed an elite rapport with veteran Joe Flacco.
Those concerns were virtually put to rest against a tough Jets secondary, as Downs racked up 19.4 PPR points with five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. Now, it is worth noting that his target share drastically decreased with Richardson under center, which will presumably be the case moving forward. However, talent is talent, and Indy will certainly keep finding ways to get him the ball.
This week, Downs draws a matchup with the Lions, who actually allow the fourth-most fantasy points to receivers. Temper expectations slightly for the second-year receiver, but he’s still a strong WR2 with upside.

Tight End
Sit ‘Em: Dalton Schultz (Texans) vs. Titans
It doesn’t seem to matter how many targets Schultz receives, the guy simply cannot score double-digit fantasy points in a game this season.
The veteran saw seven balls come his way on Monday night against Dallas, but only managed to haul five of them in for 33 yards. He hasn’t found the end zone despite playing in every game this year. With Nico Collins back in the equation, Schultz will likely see a decrease in volume moving forward, making him an uninspiring option this week against a tough Titans defense.
