Tight End Start ’Em, Sit ’Em Fantasy Football Week 12 Picks

By: Jeff Pratt

Week 12 of the NFL season has arrived! The fantasy tight end landscape is in a state of constant flux, so it’s time to take a deeper dive into that position with the fantasy playoffs on the horizon.

Let’s break down my Week 12 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football TE picks.

Start ‘Em: Hunter Henry (Patriots) at Dolphins

Drake Maye’s safety blanket just continues to produce.

Now up to PPR TE9 on the year, Henry has scored at least 12 points in four of New England’s last six outings, receiving at least six targets in as many games. Formerly known as a red zone machine, the veteran only has one score on the season, but he’s become much more involved in all facets of the offense since Maye took over under center.

Henry should keep the positive momentum rolling this week against the Dolphins, who rank in the bottom half of the league in fantasy points allowed to tight ends.

Sit ‘Em: Dalton Schultz (Texans) vs. Titans

It doesn’t seem to matter how many targets Schultz receives, the guy simply cannot score double-digit fantasy points in a game this season.

The veteran saw seven balls come his way on Monday night against Dallas, but only managed to haul five of them in for 33 yards. He hasn’t found the end zone despite playing in every game this year. With Nico Collins back in the equation, Schultz will likely see a decrease in volume moving forward, making him an uninspiring option this week against a tough Titans defense.

Start ‘Em: Will Dissly (Chargers) vs. Ravens

As I laid out above, the Chargers’ passing game has come to life over the last few weeks. One of the biggest beneficiaries of this has been Dissly, who has seen 33 targets over L.A.’s last five games.

The veteran is coming off his best performance of the season, in which he racked up 18 fantasy points against the Bengals. With his newly-established rapport with Justin Herbert on full display, Dissly is a solid option against Baltimore.

Sit ‘Em: Pat Freiermuth (Steelers) at Browns

It seems like everyone in the Steelers’ offense has benefitted from Russell Wilson starting, except for Freiermuth.

The 26-year-old just hasn’t been that involved, hitting the double-digit fantasy point mark once in Wilson’s four starts for Pittsburgh, seeing just 10 total targets over that span. Until Freiermuth carves out a larger role in the Steelers’ passing attack, he shouldn’t be in your lineup.

Those are my start ’em, sit ’em Week 12 fantasy football tight end picks! Stay tuned for more fantasy advice next week.
