After a somewhat sluggish start, Bo Nix looks to have become the gem of the 2024 QB class. The University of Oregon product has started to master the Sean Payton version of the West Coast Offense, which has transformed him into one of the most exciting young signal callers in the league. With the recent home drubbing of Atlanta, Nix has Denver as the final Wild Card team in the AFC. But how can the rookie slinger impact your squad?
Nix is currently the QB7 in fantasy, scoring at least 16 points in six of his last seven outings. Although he doesn’t offer consistent production on the ground, he has the ability to be dangerous with his legs, scampering in for a quartet of rushing scores. What everyone wants to know is whether or not this sizzling stretch is sustainable. Has the rookie wall been shattered? In short, yes.
Bo Nix has arrived
Even with a recently daunting schedule, the Broncos are 3-3 in their last six games, with Nix being the catalyst for keeping the club afloat. According to PFF, Nix has 16 total scores compared to just one turnover-worthy play since Week 4. The concerns with the deep accuracy are no more, completing seven of his eight passes over 10 yards in his most recent performance.
This level of play is more than a first-season flurry—he’s becoming one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Nix’s lightning-quick processing allows him to diagnose defenses in a flash, seemingly always making the correct read. His footwork in navigating the pocket is much improved.
Nix navigates pressure like a seasoned veteran rather than running backward, aimlessly trying to shed defenders like he’s still in college. The change in confidence is evident—consistently stepping into his throws and delivering precise strikes across the field. Even with a substandard supporting cast and the weekly Lil’Jordan Humphrey gaffe, Nix has shined and proved he’s a future star.
The AFC West is a gauntlet, but four of Denver’s next five matchups are against teams with sub-.500 records. This is Bo Nix’s franchise, and he will continue to stuff the stat sheet. Trade for him now, if you can, before he fully explodes against lesser competition. In DFS, he’s still a cheaper option compared to the more established names at the position and should be in the starting conversation every week.
Nix is the sleeping giant in fantasy and can help your squad in any format.
