Eight games are on the NBA slate tonight following an exciting Sunday of hoops. This will also lead to the third night of NBA Cup games taking place tomorrow.
Tonight, the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons will face off in the lone game in the 7:00 PM EST window. The Philadelphia 76ers will then play the Miami Heat, the Washington Wizards will play the New York Knicks, and the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Houston Rockets in the most notable games in the 7:30 PM EST time slot. Looking at the late games, the Orlando Magic will play the Phoenix Suns, the Atlanta Hawks will match up with the Sacramento Kings, and the Los Angeles Clippers will tip off against the Golden State Warriors.

Cade Cunningham Over 40.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists (-105)
The Detroit Pistons are beginning to turn a corner as a franchise and Cade Cunningham deserves the biggest portion of praise. Cunningham is averaging 23.1 points, 8.7 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game on the season and has already tallied four triple-doubles in the 15 games he has played. Each of these numbers is currently a career-high for the former No. 1 pick.
Heading into tonight’s matchup, the Pistons face the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls rank 29th in the NBA in opponent points allowed and are just 5-9 on the season. Cunningham has shined as the superstar he is and will look like the most talented player on the floor tonight. While he has only recorded over 40.5 combined points, rebounds and assists in six of the 15 games this season, Cunningham has reached this total in two of the past three games. He looks to be playing in a more attack-minded role, which included launching 34 field-goal attempts against the Bucks.
Cunningham is capable of impacting the game in any statistical category, so opt for the combined points, rebounds and assists in this matchup. Chicago has struggled greatly defensively this season and the Pistons superstar should shine. He is playing great basketball right now and it is worth capitalizing on him going over 40.5 combined points, rebounds and assists for the third time in four games.
RJ Barrett Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-115)
While the Toronto Raptors are far more interested in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes than the results on the court, RJ Barrett still has plenty to prove. The 24-year-old has averaged 21.7 points, 6.6 assists and 6.2 rebounds this season. He is also launching a career-high 6.0 three-point attempts per game and connecting at a 31.8% rate.
Toronto will be facing off with the Milwaukee Bucks who have been among the biggest disappointments this season. They enter with a 4-9 record and rank 29th in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage. While Toronto is dead last in three-point attempts per game, Barrett ranks second on the team in this category and is responsible for a great deal of the production.
On the season overall, Barrett has made at least one three-pointer in every game. He has made over 1.5 three-pointers in six of the 11 games he has played in. With a poor perimeter defense in front of him and Barrett granted the freedom to attack, look for him to knock down over 1.5 three-pointers for the seventh time this season.
Tyus Jones Over 16.5 Points & Assists (-125)
The Phoenix Suns are already battling injuries with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal each missing time due to calf injuries. This has forced Devin Booker to step up as the primary offensive weapon and Tyus Jones has also seen his role in the offense grow. So far this season, Jones has averaged 10.6 points and 6.6 assists per game.
Phoenix will be facing off with the Orlando Magic tonight. Orlando is an impressive defensive team that is also without its top player. This will be the second night of a back-to-back for the Suns after losing on a heartbreaking buzzer-beater from Julius Randle and the Timberwolves last night. Jones finished with 13 points and 11 assists in that game. He has recorded over 16.5 combined points and assists in eight of the 14 games so far this season.
Count on the 28-year-old to continue playing in an elevated offensive role while the Suns’ two stars remain sidelined. Jones does not get the job done in the flashiest of ways but is an above-average playmaker and a career 37.8% three-point shooter who is attempting the most perimeter shots of his career. Expect him to be involved as both a scorer and playmaker as Jones reaches this number once again.
Norman Powell Over 19.5 Points (-120)
After an All-Star-level start to the season, Norman Powell has begun to come back to earth a little. However, the Clippers still have a great need for him in the offense as they continue to be without Kawhi Leonard. So far this season, Powell is averaging a career-high 23.3 points per game and attempting 16.6 shots per game. His previous career-high for field-goal attempts in a season is 13.4.
The Clippers are facing off with the Golden State Warriors and are on the second night of a back-to-back. This will be the second matchup between these two teams with Powell going for exactly 20 points in the first game. While there is sure to be plenty of noise made regarding Steph Curry and James Harden being the top two in made three-pointers in NBA history, Harden has seen some statistical drop-off on the second night of back-to-backs and has had a great deal on his plate to start the season. Don’t be shocked if he operates in a more playmaking-oriented role.
Regardless of Harden’s outlook, there is a need for Powell’s scoring output in the Clippers’ offense. The 31-year-old has recorded over 19.5 points in 10 of the 14 games this season. The increased shot volume and strong play of Powell will continue to keep this window open. Look for him the capitalize and eclipse 19.5 points once again tonight.
