Is George Kittle playing in Week 11 vs. the Seahawks?

UPDATE: Kittle is officially inactive, as expected.

UPDATE: Kittle is not expected to play Sunday vs. the Seahawks, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

With Kittle likely out, all of the 49ers’ pass catchers get a bump, as well as Christian McCaffrey. CMC was already going to see a massive workload in this game, but his likeliness to find paydirt has now improved tenfold with San Fran’s leading TD scorer sidelined.

The last time Kittle sat was Week 3 vs. the Rams, and Jauan Jennings went absolutely off, catching 11-of-12 targets for 175 yards and three touchdowns, en route to 49.5 FPTS. Now, all three of Deebo Samuel, Ricky Pearsall and McCaffrey missed that game as well, so we need to take it with a grain of salt, but it just illustrates the ceiling Jennings possesses when given extra opportunity.

The 49ers are implied for 27.25 points this week against a poor Seattle defense, which is the second highest total on the main slate. The triumvirate of Samuel, Jennings and Pearsall are strong GPP plays (especially paired with QB Brock Purdy), while McCaffrey is arguably the best play on the slate in all formats. — Landon Silinsky.

George Kittle ($6,000) has been oft-injured throughout his eight-year NFL career and missed more than a handful of games. This season, he’s dealt with a multitude of injuries, yet has only missed one contest.

His status for Week 11 is in question after leaving last week’s game with hamstring “irritation.”

Kittle ran 29 routes and caught three-of-four targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. He has seven touchdowns this season already, the second-most of his career and just four behind the 11 he scored in 2022.

He did not practice on Wednesday, but was a limited participant on Thursday. Friday’s practice will be telling if he can go or not. At this moment, he is listed questionable for Sunday versus the Seahawks.

Despite a mediocre start to the season and 5-4 record, the 49ers are only one game behind the Arizona Cardinals for the division lead. In addition, they are only one game ahead of both the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks, as the NFC West is the most tightly bunched division in the NFL.

If Kittle is unable to go, then Eric Saubert ($2,500) would slot in at tight end. However, he is not fantasy relevant, having only garnered five targets the entire season. Christian McCaffrey ($8,300), Jauan Jennings ($5,300), Deebo Samuel ($6,800) and Ricky Pearsall ($4,900) would all soak up the vacated targets.

DraftKings Sportsbook has the 49ers -6.5 at home over the Seahawks with the game total at 48.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
