The Atlanta Falcons toppled the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-13 on Sunday, taking first place in the NFC South standings. They impressively got the victory with limited contributions from Bijan Robinson, who was dealing with a bad headache and only logged one carry in the entire game.
Holding down the run game was the combo of Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson, whose combined efforts played a major factor in the team’s victory. While Robinson should be good to go for their Week 8 matchup against the Tennessee Titans next Sunday, the duo is still worth a waiver wire look for this week.
Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier/Cordarrelle Patterson: Week 8 waiver wire
Allgeier got plenty of action against the Bucs, taking 21 carries for 59 yards on the ground and catching three targets for 53 yards through the air. He’s already been a decent backup fantasy running back option, averaging 7.9 points per game in PPR leagues prior to Sunday. He’s already rostered in 57.1% of fantasy leagues, so there’s a slight chance you may find him on your waiver wire this week.
Patterson made the most of his touches on Sunday, taking 10 carries for 56 yards in the victory. That was the most action he had gotten all season as he logged just one carry and two receptions prior to Sunday. He’s rostered in just 2.7% of leagues, so he should be readily available for anyone who wants to grab him this week.
