Is Jaylen Warren a must-start if Najee Harris sits in Week 11?

After missing practice with an ankle injury, there is concern that Najee Harris ($6,200) could miss this Sunday’s matchup with the Ravens. The veteran has established himself as the Steelers’ top back this season, handling 17.4 carries per game – 64.9% of Pittsburgh’s running back carries – while logging 55.7% of the snaps. Notably, Harris ranks fourth in the NFL in red-zone rushes (31).

There would clearly be a huge void if Harris sat and Jaylen Warren ($5,300) would be the primary beneficiary as the next man up in the backfield. The back is averaging 3.9 YPC this season and he has been strong as a receiver, catching 87.5% of his targets while being targeted on 19% of his routes.

Warren is producing a solid 0.23 FPTS per snap this season and he would be in store for 15-20 touches if Harris sat. The only problem is that this Baltimore defense Warren is going up against is giving up the fewest yards per rush in the league (3.4). That being said, the Ravens are extremely vulnerable through the air, allowing the fourth-most yards per pass (7.4), so Warren could do plenty of damage as a pass catcher in this spot if Harris is inactive.

While not a “must-start,” Warren would be a solid play for both season-long and DFS if Harris misses his first game of the season Sunday.
