Quarterback Start ’Em, Sit ’Em Fantasy Football Week 10 Picks

Published:

By: Jeff Pratt

Week 10 of the NFL season has arrived, and the fantasy quarterback landscape has taken quite the turn. Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield currently reign supreme, but who will stand out this week?

Let’s break down my Week 10 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football quarterback picks.

Start ‘Em: Sam Darnold (Vikings) at Jaguars

Fresh off another effective outing, Darnold checks all the boxes for a QB1 entering Week 10. Minnesota’s quarterback has now racked up at least 17 points in three straight games, proving he’s capable of eclipsing the 20-point mark even while throwing multiple interceptions.

This week, Darnold draws a Jacksonville defense that allows the most fantasy points to quarterbacks in the league. With a healthy arsenal of weapons at his disposal, the 27-year-old can be fired up with confidence on the road.

Sit ‘Em: Jared Goff (Lions) at Texans

Goff hasn’t shown much fantasy upside over Detroit’s last two matchups, racking up just a combined 30 completions for 230 yards while also fumbling twice. the 30-year-old also has quite literally no rushing upside, recording negative yards on the ground in two of his last three games.

The Lions have been so dominant through the running game that Ben Johnson is left with little incentive to let his quarterback sling it. The Texans are an enticing matchup, but until Goff is forced to attack through the air, it’s hard to justify starting him.

Start ‘Em: Brock Purdy (49ers) at Buccaneers

After failing to score 16 fantasy points in four of his first five outings, Purdy has flipped a switch as of late.

The former Mr. Irrelevant has been anything but that from a fantasy perspective, racking up at least 20 points in three straight outings before San Francisco’s bye last weekend. In his return to action, not only will Purdy likely be getting Christian McCaffrey back at his disposal, but he’s also facing a Bucs defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks per contest.

All signs are pointing up for the Niners’ QB.

Sit ‘Em: Caleb Williams (Bears) vs. Patriots

It appeared that Williams had turned a corner heading into Chicago’s bye a few weeks ago, as the rookie had turned in back-to-back stellar outings. Unfortunately, the Bears have come out of their week off as flat as possible.

Chicago managed to score just a combined 24 points over their last two matchups, and as expected, Williams’ fantasy production suffered as a result. The No. 1 overall pick failed to hit the double-digit point mark in either contest, inspiring little confidence in his prospects this week against a decent Patriots secondary. Leave Williams on your bench until he figures things out (or doesn’t).
