Welcome to your one-stop shop for Week 9 fantasy football start/sit advice. In this article, I’ll highlight one pick from each of my positional start ’em, sit ’em articles for this week’s slate. Check out each article for a deeper dive into that position!
Quarterback
Start ‘Em: Kirk Cousins (Falcons) vs. Cowboys
When Cousins puts it all together, he’s one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the league.
We’ve seen that twice in Atlanta’s last four games, as their signal caller went for 35.4 and 28.6 points in both of his outings against Tampa Bay in October. This week, he draws a Cowboys defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks per game. Drake London and Bijan Robinson were already elite weapons, but Cousins has finally tapped into Kyle Pitts’ and Darnell Mooney’s potential as well.
With Atlanta’s offense firing on all cylinders, start Cousins with confidence in fantasy lineups.

Running Back
Sit ‘Em: Javonte Williams (Broncos) at Ravens
After a monstrous showing in New Orleans, Williams came back down to earth against the Panthers. The 24-year-old saw a season-high 21 touches but failed to hit the double-digit points mark, as Bo Nix stole a rushing touchdown from him and Jaleel McLaughlin found the end zone through the air.
It was McLaughlin who actually led Denver’s backfield with 47 rushing yards on fewer than half of Williams’ carries, which suggests their workloads could be evened out more next game. It also doesn’t help that Denver is taking on the Ravens, who allow the fewest rushing yards per game in the league. This isn’t the matchup to trust Williams in, there are better options out there.

Wide Receiver
Start ‘Em: Cedric Tillman (Browns) vs. Chargers
This guy will be the No. 1 waiver claim — if he’s still available — for a reason.
Tillman burst onto the scene in Week 7 after Amari Cooper was traded, establishing himself as Cleveland’s new top receiver. Fantasy managers were eager to see if this would be recurring theme the next time he took the field with a new quarterback, and sure enough, Jameis Winston found him seven times for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
After failing to score four combined PPR points over the first six weeks of the season, Tillman has now racked up a whopping 47 in his last two outings. That bump in production should continue against the Chargers as Cleveland’s offense has new life.

Tight End
Sit ‘Em: Cole Kmet (Bears) at Cardinals
Thanks to a pair of 24-plus point outings, Kmet sits as PPR TE8 on the year. The rest of his performances have been… uninspiring, to say the least.
The 25-year-old has failed to score nine points in three of his last four games, and he saw just one target against the Commanders, hauling it in for 14 yards. With the other weapons in Chicago’s offense, Kmet has become a touchdown-or-bust fantasy option. Considering how his fellow tight ends around the league have exploded over the last few weeks, it’s best to leave him on the bench for a better candidate.
