Week 9 DraftKings NFL Pick6 Fantasy Football Picks Today: Top Picks for Sunday

By: Nick Friar

Eight games to parse through this week. Letโ€™s get right into the Pick6 fantasy football picks worth considering from Week 9โ€™s NFL main slate (Sunday 1 p.m. ET).

Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys

Bijan Robinson

Rush + Rec Yards: 101.5

While Alvin Kamara and Derrick Henry are the only two running backs who have surpassed this mark vs. the Cowboys this season, weโ€™re starting to see others wreak havoc vs. Dallas.

The split backfield in Detroit combined for 143 yards on 24 carries. Jahmyr Gibbs also reeled in three of five targets for 28 yards. San Franโ€™s Isaac Guerendo logged 85 yards on 14 carries vs. Dallas while Jordan Mason dealt with his injury after logging 18 yards on six carries. Guerendo  also had 17 yards on three catches.

While Tyler Allgeier cuts into some of Robinsonโ€™s carries, the latter is still getting a healthy amount of action on the ground. Furthermore, Allgeier wonโ€™t cut into Robinsonโ€™s work in the passing game. Robinson has more than 4x the number of targets, and heโ€™s coming off consecutive games of at least five targets and 40 receiving yards.

Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints

Chuba Hubbard

Rushing Yards: 55.5

Hubbard was smashing this number earlier in the season, but his production has slowed the last couple weeks. Having logged 52 and 56 rushing yards in his most recent games helps make sense of why his number is so low, but he should be able to surpass this mark with the help of the Saints.

A running back has surpassed this mark in each of New Orleansโ€™ last six games. J.K. Dobbins was the one with the lowest output, finishing with 57 rushing yards on 17 carries in Week 8. He was also the lone back of the bunch who didnโ€™t post a season-best or second-best total on the ground in his meeting with New Orleans.

Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins

Khalil Shakir

Receptions: 4.5

This is one of the higher reception totals from this weekโ€™s main slate (as of writing), but it still feels low. Perhaps itโ€™d be at 5.5 if Amari Cooperโ€™s status wasnโ€™t improving, which would make this a tougher number to back.

But at 4.5, thereโ€™s little reason to hesitate. Shakir has been ultra-reliable, reeling in 36 of his 38 targets this season. Over the last couple weeks, heโ€™s caught all 17 of his targets.

Cooper could cut into how many looks Shakir gets, but Josh Allen isnโ€™t simply going to abandon his most reliable pass-catcher. Furthermore, Shakir has shown he can get over this number on five targets alone.

New England Patriots at Tennessee Titans

Hunter Henry

Receiving Yards: 38.5

This could be another smash if Drake Maye gets the green light in Week 9. But, Week 8 showed that Henry will continue to get looks even if Jacoby Brissett has to enter the mix.

Henry and Maye connected for an 11-yard pass before the QB had to depart. The rest of Henryโ€™s 45 receiving yards came from Brissett. That does only add up to 34 yards on Brissettโ€™s part, which could be why this total is still sub-40 following three weeks of 40-plus receiving yards from Henry. But the prioritization of the tight end even with Maye departing is enough to back him before knowing the rookie QBโ€™s status.

Thatโ€™s also in part because of who heโ€™s facing. Since Tennesseeโ€™s bye, an opposing tight end has managed to log at least 41 receiving yards in each game.
