3 QBs to stream in Week 9 if Lamar Jackson is ruled out

3 QBs to stream in Week 9 if Lamar Jackson is ruled out

Baltimore Ravens star QB Lamar Jackson missed his second straight practice on Thursday due to knee and back issues. Jackson has had a terrific season, where he is fifth in yards, second in touchdowns and second in QBR of QBs in the NFL. Jackson has been the No. 1 quarterback in fantasy football this season, scoring 10 more points than Baker Mayfield, QB2.

If you have Jackson on your fantasy football roster, here are three options in case he misses Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Stafford had an excellent performance, leading the Los Angeles Rams to a 30-20 victory against the Vikings. The Rams got both of their elite WRs back, which greatly benefited Stafford. Stafford finished the game with 25 fantasy points, 279 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.

Stafford had the fifth-most points among quarterbacks during Week 8. He has only scored double-digit points in four games this season but played a large chunk without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. The Rams head to Seattle this week to play the 4-4 Seahawks. As a member of the Rams, Stafford has beaten the Seahawks four straight times. The Seahawks have allowed the 12th most points of 18 to QBs in fantasy football.

Bo Nix, Denver Broncos

Nix had a slow start to the season, losing the first two games. But during the past month, He has been QB3. He has averaged 22 points per game during that period and has scored at least 20 points in three of the four games. The best game of his NFL career came last week against the Carolina Panthers. He totaled 29 fantasy points while scoring four touchdowns with 284 passing yards.

This week, Nix faces the Ravens, and even if Jackson plays, this defense has been QB-friendly this season. The Ravens have allowed 24 points per game to opposing QBs this year, which ranks third in the NFL.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

After starting the season 0-4, the Jacksonville Jaguars have won two of their last four games. They lost to the Green Packers on Sunday, their fourth loss by four or fewer points this season.

During the season’s first month, Trevor Lawrence didn’t record 15 fantasy points once. Since then, he has scored over 15 points in the previous four weeks while having two 20-point games. Last week against the Packers, Lawrence threw for over 300 yards with three touchdowns.

This week, he faces the Eagles in Philadelphia, who have only allowed QBs a little under 16 points a game. Although it’s a tough matchup against an improved Eagles defense, Lawrence has continued to develop a better connection with his receivers each week.
