It has been an up-and-down season for Breece Hall. He entered the year projected to be one of the top running backs in the league, both in fantasy and on the field. Just like with the rest of his team, not everything has gone according to plan. Rookie RB Braelon Allen started to take over a larger share of carries and the offensive line has struggled in run blocking. However, in recent weeks, things have started to trend up for Hall despite Allen still having a healthy share of carries.
Over his past three games, Hall has averaged 133 rushing + receiving yards. Against the Patriots and the Bills, Hall did his work on the ground, but against the Steelers he had 103 receiving yards. Hall is managing to pick up big gains wherever his teams needs him on any type of play. Hall is averaging over five yards per carry during that three-game stretch. Braelon Allen’s YPC numbers are much lower than Hall’s over that stretch, so Todd Downing could try to get Hall even more carries this week against Houston.
The Texans’ defense is a solid unit but they are 16th in the league in EPA/rush. Hall should be able to run effectively against this defense and help the Jets control this game. Hall has shown the ability to break huge plays in multiple ways and is playing his best football of the season heading into this game, so I am betting Hall to go over his rushing + receiving yards prop of 103.5.
