Mixon has brought a new element to Houston’s offense which has helped the team get to a 6-2 record. Mixon has cleared 100 rushing yards in all four games that he has played in full so far. He’s also averaging nearly five yards per carry and well over a touchdown per game.
Stefon Diggs suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8 and Nico Collins is set to miss at least one more game, which means the Texans are depleted at receiver. This makes Mixon and the ground game all the more important heading into the TNF meeting with the Jets.
The Jets’ defense has been elite against the pass this year, but really struggles against the run. They are 21st in the NFL in defensive rush/EPA and 24th in defensive rushing success rate.
CJ Stroud has not been the same quarterback on the road as he is at home during the course of his young NFL career, and without his top two receivers against a very good secondary, Mixon should see a ton of action in this game. Therefore, I am betting on Mixon to go over his rushing prop of 80.5 yards.
