Baltimore will put a major trend on the line in this Monday matchup. But, we’ll get to that later in this Ravens vs. Buccaneers preview.
First, we’re going to run through this game’s betting splits for the moneyline, the spread and game total, along with any movement on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Game splits
Moneyline
The favored Ravens are certainly the popular play in this one. Seventy-nine percent of the moneyline plays for the game have been on Baltimore knocking off Tampa Bay.
However, those plays account for 75% of the handle, thus indicating a sharp lean toward the Buccaneers upsetting Lamar Jackson and company.
Spread
The Ravens are also the popular play against the spread, but they at least have a marginal sharp lean here. On 65% of the spread bets, Baltimore ATS has made up 68% of the spread handle for Ravens vs. Buccaneers.
What’s odd here is the spread’s behavior in response to the bets.
This spread has dipped from its opening 5-point line to 3.5. Peculiar when considering Baltimore ATS has emerged as the popular play while seeming to have a sharp lean. Baltimore has to win by more than a field goal to cover either way. But, the decrease still makes things easier for Ravens bettors.
Total
There’s been quite a bit of fluctuation with this total. After opening at 47.5, the game total jumped up to 50.5 — only to drop all the way to 48.5, then 48-even. Since that dip to 48, it’s been a steadier return to 50.
The over is the overwhelmingly popular play, accounting for 82% of the game total bets. That also explains why this number jumped in the manner it did and still sits 2.5 points higher than its opening mark.
However, the under is getting 22% of the game total handle on 18% of the bets. That may be where the dip down to 48 came from. Regardless, the over is a public, but not sharp, play.
System to note
Last season, the under was 32-16 when an AFC favorite was facing an NFC team. It was also a reliable play in 2022 (29-15-1) and 2021 (27-11).
This season , the play is only 10-10. Now may be a good time to start backing this system, with there being a lot of room for it to positively regress to the performance level of the last three seasons.
Trends to note
The major trend to note for this game: The Ravens have won 11 straight games vs. NFC opponents.
