Week 7 of the NFL season has arrived! Thursday Night Football is always hit-or-miss from a fantasy perspective, you can either make or break your week in the first game of the slate.
Let’s highlight my start/sit fantasy football picks for Saints vs. Broncos on TNF.
TNF Must-Starts

Start ‘Em: Courtland Sutton
Don’t look now, but Sutton has jumped back into fantasy-relevant territory.
The big receiver has racked up at least 13 PPR points in three of his last four matchups, establishing himself as the clear top target for rookie Bo Nix. After failing to find the end zone in his first three outings, he’s scored in two of Denver’s last three contests.
This week, Sutton finds himself in a favorable matchup against the Saints. New Orleans allows the most passing yards per game at 395.8, giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Sutton’s ceiling is relatively limited in this conservative Broncos passing attack, but he’s still perfectly capable of producing solid WR2 numbers.

Start ‘Em: Bo Nix
I certainly was not expecting to write up Bo Nix as a start when I kicked off these articles in Week 1, but here we are.
While I still have my doubts about Nix’s longterm potential as a starter in this league, his last two performances have been impressive. The rookie racked up at least 21 points in both outings, finding the end zone on the ground against the Raiders and rushing for 61 yards against the Chargers. Nix’s mobility has stood out to me as the most impressive aspect of his game thus far, and it’s certainly beneficial from a fantasy perspective.
The Saints have been relatively stingy against fantasy quarterbacks, but given the state of their decimated offense, something tells me Nix and company will have plenty of opportunities to put points on the board in Sean Payton’s return to New Orleans.
Sit ‘Em: Everyone Else
I’m not joking.
When trying to select my sits for this matchups, my options simply became overwhelming. Javonte Williams is likely the most fantasy relevant player on the list, but his inconsistent workload and the presence of Jaleel McLaughlin makes him too risky coming off a short week, even with a favorable matchup. With Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed likely missing this contest due to respective injuries, Juwan Johnson and Bub Means could offer some sort of value, but I wouldn’t trust Spencer Rattler.
Alvin Kamara is a must-start as the focal point of New Orleans’ game plan. Bo Nix and his top receiver are enticing. The Broncos defense has been great this season and should carry that positive momentum into this matchup with a banged-up Saints offense. That’s it.
