Prior to the start of the season, the 49ers were the favorites to win the NFC West at -200. And why not, as they have one of the most complete rosters from a talent perspective and have made the NFC Championship Game in four of the last five years. That includes two Super Bowl appearances.
But after five weeks to start this season, the 49ers were 2-3 with two brutal losses to division foes, both games that they seemed to have control of before snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Seattle, on the other hand, was +700 to win the NFC West prior to Week 1, but rolled off three straight wins before dropping their last two contests. That still had them in sole possession of the NFC West.
The two teams faced off on Thursday night, and prior to the start of the game, the 49ers were still the favorities to win the division at +110 with the Seahawks at +240. The 49ers also had the second-lowest odds to win the Super Bowl at +650.
After the 49ers impressive victory on Thursday night, both teams now have a 3-3 record. DK Sportsbook now has the 49ers at -180 to win the division, approaching the preseason odds of -200. The Seahawks are now at +425.
