It’s been a while since the Lions got the better of the Seahawks. And as much as Detroit enters this game the favorite, there’s a trend that favors Seattle. But, that’s all for later in this Seahawks-Lions preview.
Below, we’ll look at how DraftKings Sportsbook bettors are approaching the later of this week’s two Monday games. This Seahawks-Lions preview will examine the spread, total, player props and more to help DraftKings Sportsbook bettors cast their picks.
Game splits
Moneyline
The Lions are the popular play, receiving 76% of the moneyline bets. They’ve also see 79% of the moneyline handle, so the sharps seem to be backing Detroit at -198, as well.
Spread
The difference in percentage of bets tightens when we look at the spread. But, the sharp lean also seems to widen.
The spread has waffled between 3.5 and 4.5 since opening at and even 4. Still, 4 is where it sits as of writing.
Sixty-seven percent of the spread bets have gone toward the Lions covering. Those bets have accounted for 76% of the handle. Detroit ATS isn’t as popular with the public, but the play is still getting a large portion of the handle.
Total
This bottomed out at 46 after opening at 48.5 before popping back up to 47. But, this decline from the opening line flies in the face of the splits.
The over has gotten 60% of the game total bets on 69% of the handle. Those splits show sharp and public money toward the over, yet the number is down from its opening mark.
Systems in play
Found two significant systems trending a few seasons back:
- Since 2021, the under is 12-1 (92%) when non-divisional NFC teams square off on Monday.
- Since 2021, road underdogs are 17-9-1 (63%) on Monday.
Regarding the latter trend: the Seahawks have also won their last six games vs. Detroit, as well as covered in the last five meetings between the two teams.
Popular props
David Montgomery is the player DraftKings Sportsbook bettors will have their eye on in this one. By handle, he’s the most bet on option from SEA-DET for the following markets (his odds for each play are included beside the market):
- First TD Scorer (+475)
- Anytime TD Scorer (-135)
- 2+ TD Scorer (+400)
Montgomery has seen 22% of the First TD Scorer handle, but on 33% of the bets. Meanwhile, DK Metcalf (+1400) has seen 18% of the First TD Scorer handle on just 11% of the bets.
As for the non-TD-related player props, Montgomery’s backfield mate is getting the attention. With +140 odds, “Jahmyr Gibbs Rushing Yards 60+” has seen the most handle of any non-TD-related player prop from SEA-DET.
