Same Game Parlay: Manchester City ML + Over 2.5 Total Goals (+105)
If you’re new here, Manchester City SGPs have become a mainstay in my weekly picks.
There’s a reason for that, as they haven’t missed yet this season. Sometimes, it pays off to not overthink things. Now, Erling Haaland does not appear in this particular Same Game Parlay, but as you’ll notice below he is one of my favorite anytime goalscorer picks, with fantastic value at -140.
Anytime you get the chance to take the reigning back-to-back-to-back-to-back Prem champs to defeat a definitively inferior opponent at odds under -200, it’s probably worth seizing that opportunity. We’re actually bumping this parlay into plus-money territory with the addition of over 2.5 total goals, but that’s another leg I’m quite confident in. Following their season-opener against Chelsea, every match Pep Guardiola’s squad has played in has gone over this total. The same can be said for each of Newcastle’s last three contests.
I expect City to bounce back from their draw against Arsenal in a big way Saturday.
Aston Villa ML at Ipswich Town (-120)
I had to triple-check the odds on this one.
I understand you have to factor in Villa being the away side for this tilt, but Unai Emery’s squad is in too formidable of a form to only be -120 outright favorites. Ollie Watkins and company boast a 4-0-1 Premier League record, winning five consecutive matches across all competitions since their 0-2 defeat to Arsenal.
The Villans score goals seemingly at will, which cannot be said for their opponent this week. Ipswich have only put three in the back of the net this year, also holding one of the highest expected goals against totals in the league. Villa should keep their positive momentum rolling on Sunday.
