One of these teams has to take a step in the right direction on Thursday. Right? The Giants have some momentum on their side after knocking off the Browns. But, recent history is on the Cowboysโ side.
To help bettors cast picks for Thursdayโs scuffle, trends and additional betting information associated with the bets available for Cowboys-Giants are laid out below.
Game splits
Moneyline
The Cowboys are rather sizable moneyline favorites with their -258 odds. They are the popular play, receiving 75% of the moneyline bets for this game, and it seems the sharps are also with Dallas. Eighty percent of the moneyline handle for this game has gone toward the Cowboys.
Spread
In terms of the percentage of bets/handle splits, there isnโt an edge here. Seventy-seven percent of the handle and splits have gone toward Dallas.
However, this spread has moved around quite a bit. After opening at seven points, it dropped all the way down to four. Once it bottomed out there, the spread climbed back to six and continues to fluctuate between 5.5 and 6.
What it all means: The Cowboys are the popular play without any sharp/public lean going toward them or the Giants. However, the spread has never increased past its opening line of seven, making it easier for the Cowboys to cover.
Total
After opening at 43.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook, the Cowboys-Giants total has been on a steady increase up to 45.5, where it now sits. That movement tracks with the way bettors have attacked this play.
The over is the popular play, seeing 63% of the bet slips. Those bets have also accounted for 66% of the handle.
Systems in play
Despite the way bettors have approached the Cowboys-Giants total, there are a few systems in play โ specific to TNF and Dallas, separately โ that favor the under:
- In the Dak Prescott era (2016-present), the under is 11-5 when the Cowboys are a road favorite against an NFC East opponent.
- Of those 16 games, six have come against the Giants. The under is 5-1 in those games.
- Since the 2021 season, the under is 5-3 on TNF when the game is played by divisional opponents and the home team is the underdog.
- Since the 2021 season, the under is 7-0 on TNF when the road team is favored and coming off a loss.
Popular props
CeeDee Lamb is the player most DraftKings Sportsbook bettors will be locked in on Thursday. Heโs the most bet on option among the following categories:
- First TD Scorer (+450)
- Anytime TD Scorer (-155)
- 2+ TD Scorer (+380)
But while Lamb is the most popular option for First TD Scorer in terms of percentage of bets at 35%, those bets have only accounted for 28% of the handle.
Meanwhile, 12% of the handle has gone toward Jake Ferguson (+900) to score the gameโs first TD off of just 8% of the bets. Similarly, 9% of the First TD Scorer bets and 11% of the handle have been cast at Ezekiel Elliot (+800).
In the mix with that Dallas trio, 16% of the First TD Scorer handle and bets have been in favor of Malik Nabers (+800).
Going back to Ferguson, he is the second-most bet on player to not score a touchdown this game at -295. Only Deving Singletary (-120) has been bet on more for this play.
But, thatโs not the only action Singletary has seen. He has the most popular non-touchdown-related prop for this game, with bettors backing him to go over 15.5 receiving yards (-130).
