NASCAR is back and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Build a “Pick Set” (2-6 drivers) and decide if they will outperform their stat projections. Here is some advice to help build your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400.
Kyle Larson: Finishing Position – 3.5
Pick6 Play: Better
A podium is a big ask from any driver. In the Gen-7 car with equal equipment, there’s no guarantee that the best driver on the planet will finish in the top three. But this is the best driver on the planet. The only thing that can stop Larson is luck. That applies to every driver and every pick. Fortune has to be set aside. Speed and talent are the metrics that matter. Larson, as always, had speed in practice. The No. 5 Hendrick Chevy laid down the sixth quickest lap in practice. Larson ranked eighth on five-lap and 10-lap runs. That might not sound great, but Larson participated in the group B practice session. The track was rubbered up and slower. This car has speed.
Yung Money led nearly every lap last week at Bristol. He’s locked in and his car is dialed in. Larson is the championship favorite for a reason. He’s a favorite at Kansas for a reason. He won at Kansas in the spring, finished fourth last fall and would have won the 2023 spring race if Hamlin didn’t dump him at the end. His average finish is third in the last six Kansas races.
William Byron: Finishing Position – 5.5
Pick6 Play: Worse
This team doesn’t have it. They never did. What’s wrong with Byron? What was right? Byron burst onto the scene with three wins in the first eight races of 2024. He’s struggled ever since. It makes sense. Those races weren’t great indicators of speed. Byron won a super-speedway race at Daytona, a road race at COTA and at a unique short track in Martinsville. Byron admitted that this team was struggling in interviews earlier this week.
Byron is barely a top-10 driver in the intermediate-track package this season. His average finish in this package of late is more of the same. The No. 24 Hendrick Chevy is a top-10 car, not a top-5 car. Hendrick has four cars in the playoffs. Larson is the focus. The rest of the resources get spread throughout. Chase Elliott lost an engine on Saturday. His No. 9 Chevy will receive extra attention. Byron takes a backseat. The No. 24 Chevy laid down some fast lap times in practice, but those numbers were inflated by the green track during practice session A.

Create a Pick Set
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Enter an Amount
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
Sweat Your Picks
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Compete for Prizes
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
