Jalen Nailor is still a top waiver pickup for Week 4

Jalen Nailor is still a top waiver pickup for Week 4

To open this 2024-25 season, Nailor has caught three touchdowns, one in each game. He is not going to finish with 17 touchdowns this season. Now that I’ve bursted bubbles, is he still a waiver wire pickup?

Nailor is not the biggest player at 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds. He is not the fastest, as the 40-time is 4.5. He’s not the most agile, as the agility score is in the 43rd percentile. The draft pedigree isn’t high, as he was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft, and he’s exceeded 50 yards only once in three games.

He is still a pickup, though.

After playing in only 47% of the snaps in Week 1, Nailor has been in 93% and 86% of the snaps in the last two weeks. He ran 28 routes in Week 2 and 32 routes in Week 3. He only received four targets in each of those contests, but he garnered a total of three red zone looks.

With Justin Jefferson drawing most of the attention from opposing defenses, Nailor is going to get plenty of opportunities to score fantasy goodies. While the Vikings are only 19th in passing rate, Sam Darnold has been more than competent orchestrating Kevin O’Connell’s offense. Minnesota has a Total Pass EPA of 5.1, the 10th-best mark in the league.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
