Update- On Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that McCaffrey will be placed on IR and miss a minimum of the next four games. The earliest he can return will be October 10th against the Seahawks. Backup running back Jordan Mason is set to carry the workload for at least the next month. –Ciaran Doyle
September 13- Christian McCaffrey was a surprise inactive this past Monday vs. the Jets and he’ll be sidelined again in Week 2. Kyle Shanahan called McCaffrey “day-to-day” Tuesday, but now the 49ers HC says the team is contemplating putting their star RB on IR.
With McCaffrey inactive for the second straight week, Jordan Mason ($5,200) will be a must-play for all formats. Starting for McCaffrey on Monday, Mason rushed 28 times for 147 yards and a TD, resulting in 25.2 FPTS. Notably, Mason logged 80.6% of the snaps and he was the only 49ers back to see a carry. Just be aware, he’ll be quite popular.
