NASCAR Fantasy Rankings
1. William Byron ($10,300) — His ascension to elite road racer was a long time coming. Byron had the talent and a fast Hendrick Chevy but could never get the job done. That changed at Watkins Glen last season. He followed that road course win with a runner-up finish at The Roval and a win at COTA to start the 2024 road racing season.
2. Chase Elliott ($10,000)—Is the king’s reign over? Elliott was on his way to becoming the best road racer ever, but the king’s dominance is ancient history. Elliott has not won at a road course since 2021. He’s a top-5 driver, but he no longer rules.
3. Tyler Reddick ($9,500) — Between 2022 and 2023, Reddick won three of five road races (Road America, Indy GP and COTA). Two of those tracks are no longer on the circuit. Reddick’s still got it. He’s finished fifth, eighth and second in the three road races this season.
4. Kyle Larson ($10,500) — His recent road results do not scream consistency, but they back the belief that Larson can win at any racing discipline and on any track. It’s tricky predicting drivers in road events that can be wins or DNFs. It’s not tricky when the driver is the best in the world.
5. Shane Van Gisbergen ($9,800) — SVG wins every Xfinity Series road course race. The Cup Series has not worked out in 2024. He has the car. He has the talent. He doesn’t have the experience at The Glen. Inexperience hasn’t hurt SVG in the past.

6. A.J. Allmendinger ($9,000) — Watkins Glen is a playoff race this season. The best drivers care about points. The Dinger cares about a win. He doesn’t need an edge, but he’ll have it on Sunday.
7. Alex Bowman ($7,600) — Hendrick Motorsports knows road racing. Chase Elliott might set the all-time road course wins record. Kyle Larson became elite upon his arrival. Byron broke through last season. Bowman was the showman at Chicago. Before his street circuit win, he finished fourth at COTA in the first road course race of the 2024 season.
8. Martin Truex Jr ($8,600) — The vets have an edge at the legacy tracks. The young guns can hold their own at the novel road courses that proliferate the modern NASCAR schedule. The vets are hard to beat at The Glen and Sonoma.
9. Chris Buescher ($8,300) — Until he wins, Buescher will be the blue-collar road racing expert. He’s the steady delivery driver. He routinely delivers top-10 finishes. It’s not flashy, but the boxes are on the porch on time.
10. Ty Gibbs ($9,200) — Xfinity Series success can be dismissed, but Gibbs beat strong road ringers with years of experience in the second-tier NASCAR series. Gibbs is a quick study. He finished fifth at Watkins Glen last season and has two podiums in 2024.
11. Juan Pablo Montoya ($8,000) — The legend has returned. It’s been a decade, but JPM is back. He’s back and driving a fast 23XI Toyota Camry. It’s a sentimental and volatile pick, but that’s how GPPs are won.
12. Kyle Busch ($8,800) — This hasn’t been Rowdy’s year. The years are winding down. It’s not over yet. Goodyear is bringing a tire with severe fall-off. Busch is a great road course driver with plenty of tire management experience.
13. Michael McDowell ($8,500) — Front Row Motorsports has fast Fords. Their driver is fast on road courses. McDowell is no longer an underdog. He won the 2023 Indy GP and has two top-5 finishes in the three road course races this season.
14. Christopher Bell ($9,300) — The dirt racer is a road racer. Bell has won road course races in the Xfinity and Cup Series. Few drivers can make that claim. A winning driver in a JGR Toyota is hard to dismiss.
15. Daniel Suarez ($7,900) — It’s a toss-up between the testers. Austin Cindric ($7,700) tested at Watkins Glen along with Suarez earlier this summer. Both have been surprisingly bad at road courses since the beginning of 2023. Both were great in 2022.
