It has been nearly seven months since the Chiefs defeated the 49ers to secure their second consecutive Super Bowl. The long period without football has come to a close and Week 1 of this season has arrived. The Chiefs will be stepping right back into primetime to defend their title, this time facing the Baltimore Ravens.
With a clean DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) slate ahead of us as well, here is a look at some DFS value plays that could greatly outproduce their salaries in DraftKings Showdown contests.

Thursday Night Football Value Plays
Xavier Worthy ($5,800)
This is a bit more expensive than a typical value play, but Xavier Worthy should outplay this price point this week. The Texas product was drafted by the Chiefs with the 28th overall pick and is expected to make an impact from day one. He’ll have the opportunity given Marquise “Hollywood” Brown will miss the first week due to injury. Worthy will have the chance for an increased target share and if he can connect with Mahomes on one to two big plays, he will be in for a significant DFS performance.
Harrison Butker ($4,600)
The biggest thing you want to avoid when digging through the bargain bin of value players is having a guy who puts up 0 points. While they may not have the ceiling of positional players, kickers can still provide a positive DFS outlook. At $4,600, Butker comes in $400 cheaper than the Ravens’ kicker Justin Tucker despite them finishing just 0.3 fantasy points apart last season at 9.1 fantasy points per game. As you move around the position players and look to maximize your full lineup, keep the kicker position in mind.
Nelson Agholor ($3,400)
Once a highly-touted draft pick selected 20th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been a rocky career for Nelson Agholor. He has found his professional footing in Baltimore and is officially listed as WR3 on the depth chart. Agholor tallied at least one reception in every game last season and made his way into the end zone five total times, including once in the playoffs. He logged at least a 33% snap share in every game and if Agholor can build off this he has a chance to make an impact. This is a bit more of an all-or-nothing swing, but it takes just one catch for the former UDC product to outperform his value.
Skyy Moore ($2,200)
It’s tough to fill Tyreek Hill’s old shoes in the Chiefs offense, but it still hasn’t been a good start to Skyy Moore’s NFL career. The former 54th overall pick has logged just 494 receiving yards and 47 rushing yards in his two seasons in the NFL. This feels a bit of a sink-or-swim season for Moore. Injuries have played a role in him not performing on the field, especially down the stretch last season. He also will be the beneficiary of Hollywood Brown missing the opening week. Kansas City typically plays three wide receivers and rotates their lineups often. He likely will not win you the week singlehandedly, but in a pinch, Skyy Moore could outperform his value at the bottom of your roster.
