Same Game Parlay: Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer & Manchester City To Win at West Ham (-110)
I’m 3/3 with Manchester City bets so far in the 2024/25 Premier League season, so why stop now?
I believe that if you can get strong value — which tends to be anything close to even money — with straightforward picks for the reigning four-peat champions, you should seize that opportunity. With this particular Same Game Parlay, it’s as simple as it gets. We’re taking the most prolific goalscorer the Prem has ever seen to put one in the back of the net, and the best team in the league to win a match.
City are undefeated in their last 17 contests against the Hammers, winning 14 of those clashes. Pep Guardiola’s squad has also been incredibly efficient from a scoring standpoint in this particular matchup, racking up more away goals against West Ham (42) than they have against any other opponent in England’s top league.
As for Haaland’s part of this parlay, this is the Norwegian’s bread and butter. Erling has scored four times in as many appearances against West Ham. With four goals through two games so far this year, he should have little trouble adding to his tally Saturday.
Liverpool To Win at Manchester United (-120)
Nine straight Liverpool managers have failed to win their first match against Manchester United.
I expect Arne Slot to break that streak on Sunday.
Through two weeks, we’ve seen how the Dutchman’s tactics compare to legendary former boss Jürgen Klopp. The main difference between the two is a reduced level of aggression under the new manager. Klopp employed a menacing high press with three players up top, attempting to suffocate possession among the opponent’s back line.
Slot opts for a slightly more conservative approach, transitioning his fluid formation into a press with two men up top. This creates fewer opportunities for the high line to win the ball, but it also leaves Liverpool far less vulnerable on the counter than they were under Klopp. So far, this strategy has worked, as the Reds boast a pair of 2-0 wins through two weeks.
It’s been a rocky start for United. A late goal from Joshua Zirkzee rescued three points for the Devils against Fulham, but they lost their second outing to Brighton. Considering the talent gap between these squads and how seamless the transition to Slot has been — with Mohamed Salah already in mid-season form — I expect Liverpool to secure the road victory.
