The Yankees went from the brink of victory multiple times to getting booed by the Bronx faithful by the game’s end.
Despite a shaky night from the plate, Guardians superstar Jose Ramirez ($6,400; 9 FPTS) came through in the clutch, singling up the middle to give his club some breathing room. David Fry ($3,900; 18 FPTS) broke the contest open two batters later, lining a ball past Juan Soto in left and clearing the bases on a game-sealing triple.
Steven Kwan ($4,600; 13 FPTS) failed to record a hit but earned three walks and recorded a stolen base.
For New York, their only offense came from the usual suspects. After his All-MLB teammate, Juan Soto ($6,500; 16 FPTS), left the yard in the first, Aaron Judge ($6,900; 25 FPTS) followed that up by crushing his 45th homer of the season. It’s the fifth time the pair have gone back-to-back this season, moving just one shy of the Yankees record.
The captain blistered a double to score two in the bottom of the 12th, but it was too little, too late for the pinstripes.
Despite the loss, the Yankees are the favorites to win the AL East at -195.
