Simone Biles and Team USA won the women’s team gymnastics gold yesterday and then the GOAT won the battle online with former Team USA teammate MyKayla Skinner.
Skinner, who won a silver medal in the Vault at the Games in Tokyo, had criticized the current members of Team USA saying, “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and depth isn’t what it used to be…The girls just don’t have work ethic.” Skinner apologized for those comments earlier this month.
The comments were brought back to the forefront in the aftermath of Team USA’s gold-medal performance on Tuesday, with Simone taking to Instagram to clap back at Skinner.
Golden Girls stick together, and McKayla Skinner apparently missed the memo about messing around and finding out. She did decide to basically do the online version of tapping out and accepting defeat.
Biles has a chance to add to her tally this week in the All-Around competition, with the final set for Thursday at 12:15 p.m. ET on NBC, as well as the Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise.
