The Boston College Eagles will host the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday as they hope to shake off a blowout road loss to Duke last week. The Seminoles, meanwhile, are riding a three-game losing streak and have yet to win a road game in 2026.
Florida State is a 6.5-point road favorite on Saturday with -245 moneyline odds, while Boston College has +200 moneyline odds. The game total for the conference showdown is set at 52.5 points. Here is a preview of the Week 10 contest featuring odds and lines from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Boston College Eagles vs. Florida State Seminoles Preview
Boston College
The Eagles had played five straight games decided by single digits prior to their 49-27 win at Georgia Tech on October 24, then they proceeded to lose 47-2 at Duke on October 31. That marked the program’s ugliest loss under coach Bill O’Brien, but Boston College still enters Week 10 with a 4-4 record and a decent shot at bowl eligibility.
Quarterback Mason McKenzie couldn’t do much through the air or on the ground against the Blue Devils, accounting for just 111 yards total on the day. The Saginaw Valley State transfer now boasts a 123.9 passer rating on the season with eight touchdowns, seven interceptions, a 57.4% completion percentage and 181.3 passing yards per game. At the same time, he is up to 638 yards and five touchdowns as a runner, making him far and away the Eagles’ biggest rushing threat – especially with starting running back Evan Dickens out for the season with a knee injury.
With the star Liberty transfer sidelined, Bo MacCormack III is now Boston College’s top running back. The sophomore has 318 yards and four touchdowns from scrimmage across six appearances. BC is a lot more balanced when it comes to the passing game, as they boast four wideouts with between 204 and 308 yards who have all found the end zone this season. UNC transfer Javarius Green is the security blanket with 28 catches, while Washington State transfer Landon Wright is the boom-or-bust home run threat at 26.0 yards per reception.
After last week’s weak showing on both ends of the field, the Eagles now rank No. 88 in points allowed per game and No. 112 in points scored per game. Their passing game ranks outside the top 100 in yards, but their rushing attack is actually narrowly in the top 50 nationally. They also boast a top-50 total defense, thanks in large part to a secondary that allows the 36th-fewest passing yards per game. In the opponent-adjusted SP+ efficiency metric, Boston College dropped 16 spots to No. 94 this week. They rank No. 73 on defense, No. 103 on offense and No. 106 on special teams.
Florida State
The Mike Norvell era in Tallahassee is finally over. He led the Seminoles to a 10-23 record after their 13-0 squad was passed over for the four-team College Football Playoff in 2023. Now, Rick Stockstill is in charge on an interim basis following a few years as an offensive analyst. Stockstill previously spent 18 seasons as Middle Tennessee’s head coach, going 4-6 in bowl games over that span.
Auburn transfer Ashton Daniels currently leads FBS with 11 interceptions, two years after he led the ACC with 12 picks back when he was at Stanford. And yet, he has 14 touchdowns and 15.5 yards per completion – which leads the conference – leading to a career-high 147.9 passer rating. Daniels has also racked up 375 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground, making him one of the most dangerous dual-threat passers in the country. His top three targets – Duce Robinson, Jayvan Boggs and Micahi Danzy – all have 20-plus catches and 400-plus receiving yards.
Running back Ousmane Kromah is out for the season with an ankle injury, so his five touchdowns and 100.9 yards from scrimmage per game won’t be able to help out Saturday. Tre Wisner is the next man up in the backfield with 247 ayrds on 51 carries, plus his 201 yards on 17 receptions.
Under Norvell, Florida State ranked No. 55 in scoring offense and No. 104 in scoring defense. They slot in at No. 50 in the latest SP+ with the No. 30 adjusted offense and No. 81 adjusted defense. And while their special teams unit only ranks No. 48 under that model, kicker Gabe Panikowski is perfect on both extra points and field goals in 2026.
Boston College vs. Florida State Pick, Best Bet
Firing a coach midseason is a dangerous game in the short term, since teams can either collapse without consistent leadership or ascend to new heights with new life in the locker room.
BC has played FSU close their last few meetings, upsetting them in Tallahassee to open 2024 and only losing 31-29 to a top-three Seminoles squad when they visited Chestnut Hill in 2023. Florida State also only won by three when they went to Boston College in 2021 and by seven when they went in 2019. Their 2018 meeting was decided by one point, while the Eagles won 35-3 at Alumni Stadium in 2017.
While recognizing that a team can go in any number of directions under a game one interim, I like Boston College to defend their home turf on Saturday. At the very least, they should put up a good fight and show that last week’s showing in Durham was a fluke. BC is 3-1 at home this year, and that one loss came by just seven points to a Virginia Tech team that is 6-2 and seven points away from a perfect record. Florida State, even with a bit of juice under Stockstill, probably won’t outperform the Hokies in Chestnut Hill.
