Looking for Week 8 WR start/sit picks? Here are the wide receivers to start and sit in your fantasy football lineups. WR is the position with the widest range of potential outcomes, as there are a multitude of variables that factor into a receiver’s weekly production. Following key injuries across the league through seven weeks, most fantasy managers have difficult lineup decisions to make. Let’s break down my Week 8 fantasy WR start/sit picks.
Fantasy Football Week 8 WR Start/Sit: Wide Receiver Picks
Wide receivers to start: Omar Cooper Jr., Stefon Diggs
Wide receivers to sit: Xavier Worthy, Rome Odunze
Week 8 WR Start: Stefon Diggs vs. Eagles
Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn declared that Stefon Diggs wouldn’t necessarily see an expanded role with Terry McLaurin out for the season, to which I say… I’ll believe that when I see it.
It’s one thing to make such a statement as a head coach. It’s another to be a quarterback and not naturally look to your best remaining healthy receiver more frequently, which I assume Jayden Daniels will do. Diggs has been quite productive regardless this season, racking up at least 15 fantasy points in three of his five contests. He put up a strong showing against the 49ers last week, hauling in six catches for 44 yards and a touchdown.
In Week 8, Diggs will look to keep the momentum rolling against the Eagles, who allow the second-most fantasy points per game to receivers. Fire up the veteran as a WR2 with upside.
Week 8 WR Sit: Rome Odunze at Seahawks
Rome Odunze is still garnering a start percentage of around 50% or higher across major fantasy football platforms. That cannot be the case moving forward.
Odunze has elite talent, we all see that. He just can’t get on the same page as Caleb Williams, which has resulted in extremely underwhelming production. The third-year wideout has scored double-digit fantasy points only twice this year and hasn’t found the end zone through seven games.
It’s safe to say Odunze has been relegated to the third option in the passing game, firmly behind Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland. That will remain the case heading into a brutal matchup with the Seahawks, who allow the fewest fantasy points to receivers per contest. Keep Rome on your bench until he flashes some semblance of consistent production.

Week 7 WR Start: Omar Cooper Jr. vs. Raiders
Garrett Wilson, take a seat. There’s a new sheriff in town. And by town, I mean the New York Jets’ receiving corps.
Omar Cooper Jr. has been stellar since his return from IR, racking up north of 22 PPR points in both Weeks 6 and 7. The speedy Cooper Jr. is a dynamic big-play threat, averaging 19 yards per reception. The rookie has put all of this production together with a relatively mundane target share as well, hauling in 11 of his 12 looks over the last couple of contests.
Cooper Jr. will look to keep the momentum rolling in Week 8 against a porous Raiders secondary. Las Vegas is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to receivers, putting the rookie in WR2 territory for this outing.
Week 8 WR Sit: Xavier Worthy at Broncos
The Xavier Worthy WR1 experience was fun while it lasted.
The speedster had been pretty productive in his prior two outings heading into a Sunday Night Football tilt with the Seahawks, where all of his momentum was abruptly halted. Worthy saw six targets as Patrick Mahomes’ No. 1 WR with Rashee Rice out, but he only managed to bring three of them in for a measly 11 yards.
Next up, Worthy will face off against a second consecutive elite secondary in Denver. The Broncos held the third-year wideout to a similar stat line in Week 1, giving fantasy managers reason for caution. Even if Rashee Rice (knee, hamstring) is unable to suit up, Worthy should stay on your bench for this matchup.
