Best NHL Player Props for October 27
Jack Eichel 2+ Points (+150)
Vegas enters Tuesday night riding a three-game winless streak, but tonight’s tilt against Ottawa should be a good bounce-back spot for the club. Eichel has been a bit quiet lately, but he has still cleared this line in six games this season and has a strong history against the Senators. He has totaled 35 points across 25 career meetings against the Senators, and Ottawa has allowed 10 goals across its past two games since Linus Ullmark went down with an injury. Eichel ranks ninth in the NHL in points per 60, and he leads Vegas forwards in shifts per game and ranks second on the team in power-play time on ice per game. Vegas ranks fifth in xGoals%, while Ottawa ranks fourth in penalty minutes per game, so the power play opportunities should be there tonight.
Tage Thompson 4+ Shots on Goal (-105)
Thompson was held without a shot on goal for the first time this season in Buffalo’s last outing on Oct. 24, but tonight is a good spot for him to get back on track. He’s one of the most aggressive shot-takers in the NHL, totaling 45 shots on goal through 11 games, and the Sharks just so happen to allow the sixth-most shots per game this season. In fact, San Jose has especially struggled to limit opposing centers, ranking first in shots allowed to the position. Thompson has been centering Buffalo’s top line, which has resulted in plenty of close-range chances. He ranks 15th in the NHL in shots on goal per 60 and 21st in shot attempts per 60, and he could see additional opportunities on the power play against an undisciplined Sharks team that ranks seventh in penalty minutes per game.
