The PGA TOUR continues the FedExCup Fall this week by beginning a two-week stretch in Mexico. After a wind-swept and weather-shortened week in Bermuda, the PGA TOUR shifts to the West Coast of Mexico to visit the VidantaWorld course in Vidanta Vallarta in Nuevo Nayarit, Nayarit, Mexico.
The purse this year will be $6 million, with the winner earning $1.08 million and 500 FedExCup Fall Points as players continue to try to improve their status for next year by moving up the FedExCup Fall Standings, which will help determine which events players qualify for next season. With a new competitive structure coming in 2028, 2027 results will help determine eligibility, making it a critical year in many players’ careers. A strong finish to the FedExCup Fall this year can put them in a good spot headed into 2027. This is the fifth of the eight tournaments that make up the FedExCup Fall, with three events before the standings are finalized after the RSM Classic on Nov. 22.
Last year, Brian Campbell defeated Aldrich Potgieter in a playoff at the Mexico Open, which was held in February. This year’s move to the FedExCup Fall places it just before the World Wide Technology Championship, which is also played in Mexico.
