Chiefs vs. Seahawks NFL Player Prop Bets and Picks for Sunday Night Football

Closing out the Week 7 Sunday slate, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Seattle Seahawks in this week’s SNF matchup.

Both teams have Super Bowl aspirations, and reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III changed teams this past offseason, moving from Seattle to Kansas City. The Chiefs enter with an undefeated 5-0 record, while the Seahawks have stumbled to a 3-3 start.

Looking at the odds for the Week 7 SNF matchup, the Seahawks enter as narrow three-point favorites with -142 Moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Chiefs hold +104 odds to get the outright victory, with the game total set at O/U 42.5 points.

But there are plenty of ways to get involved in the action beyond backing a side or total. Let’s take a look at my top three favorite player props for the Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup. For a look at where DraftKings Sportsbook customers are betting, see the latest Chiefs vs. Seahawks player prop bet splits.

Chiefs vs. Seahawks Odds

Chiefs vs. Seahawks NFL Player Prop Bets for Sunday Night Football

Sam Darnold Under 233.5 Passing Yards (-111)

Sam Darnold was viewed as a major bust early in his career, flaming out with the New York Jets after being selected with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He then bounced around the league, spending time with the Panthers and 49ers before finding his footing with the Vikings and Seahawks. Unfortunately, Darnold has looked more like the disappointing top pick to start this season, struggling through the opening six weeks.

Entering the Week 7 matchup, Darnold has completed 60.4% of his pass attempts for just 1,033 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The USC product is already halfway to the number of interceptions tallied last year, over 17 games last season. He is averaging 206.6 passing yards per game and has finished with passing totals of 379, 168, 195, and 278. It is worth noting that the reigning Super Bowl champion suffered a glute injury in the season opener and was held out of the second game this year.

Don’t expect the pathway to passing production to be much easier against this stingy Chiefs defense. While the organization has leaned on an offensive-minded identity across this era, Kansas City enters this week ranked second in the league in opponents’ points allowed. They also rank sixth in total yards allowed, 13th in passing yards conceded, and second-fewest passing touchdowns allowed. Justin Herbert finished with 204 passing yards against them last week, Malik Willis and Daniel Jones were each held to exactly 210 passing yards, and Bo Nix recorded just 131 yards through the air against them this year. Only Kirk Cousins has been able to clear this line.

Expect plenty of Darnold’s self-inflicted issues to remain evident and for the Chiefs’ defense to take full advantage. The 233.5 passing yard line is too lofty based on what has been seen this year, and expect the Seahawks quarterback to remain under this number tonight.

Kenneth Walker III Over 107.5 Rushing & Receiving Yards (-111)

All eyes will be on Kenneth Walker III tonight as he seeks revenge on his former team. The last time he took the field with the Seahawks, he was hoisting the Super Bowl trophy and being crowned MVP of the game. But contract negotiations did not go as he desired this offseason, and he will now look to lead the offensive charge against his former team.

Walker III has exceeded even the most ambitious expectations early in the season with Kansas City. Through five games, he has tallied 106 rushing attempts for an NFL-leading 665 yards and six touchdowns. He is averaging an NFL-best 133.0 rushing yards per game and has added 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air. Kansas City’s offensive line has done an excellent job creating running lanes, and the 26-year-old has made the most of these opportunities. He is averaging 6.3 yards per carry and has recorded at least 117 rushing yards in four of his five games. The Chiefs have also shown a willingness to lean on him heavily, with Walker III recording at least 18 rushing attempts in every game.

The standard rushing prop is set at 80.5 rushing yards for the matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook, and my lean is toward him having no trouble clearing this. But Walker III has at least one reception in every game and as many as six in a matchup. If Seattle is committed to stacking the box to limit his impact as a rusher, count on the Chiefs countering by making him more involved in the passing game. Back Walker III to make his impact felt one way or another against his former team, and for 107.5 combined rushing and receiving yards to be a comfortable bar to clear.

Patrick Mahomes Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+160)

While Walker III may headline this matchup and has been the biggest storyline surrounding this Chiefs team, the return of Patrick Mahomes has not been far behind. Following the season-ending ACL tear last year, the two-time MVP looks back to playing like the best version of himself. Through the opening five games, he has completed 66.5% of his pass attempts for 1,309 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Mahomes has thrown at least two passing touchdowns in four of his five games this season, with last week’s matchup against the Chargers marking the first time he fell short of that mark. As strong as Seattle’s defense has looked collectively, the Seahawks rank 14th in passing touchdowns allowed, compared with sixth in rushing touchdowns allowed. Brock Purdy threw for a pair of touchdowns against them, while Marcus Mariota recorded three passing scores when facing Seattle this season.

Walker III has been a foundation of the Chiefs’ red-zone attack, recording eight total touchdowns through the opening five games. Expect this to be an area Seattle is especially focused on as it looks to keep its former teammate out of the end zone. Mahomes is the perfect counter, having already demonstrated his ability to elevate his passing production when needed. Expect him to take control in the red zone and record at least two passing scores for the fifth time this season, with the +160 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook proving incredibly valuable odds.
