We’re into Week 8 of the college football season as the conference slates roll on. The No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide are set to host Texas A&M in what remains an interesting matchup, but isn’t quite as big of a deal as it would’ve been a few weeks ago following this recent collapse from the Aggies. Still, this could be a great game if both teams play up to their potential.

Texas A&M vs. Alabama player props
Keelon Russell 25+ rushing yards (-119)
Texas A&M is a bit vulnerable via the rushing game. This defense allows 141.7 rushing yards per game and an average carry of 4.2 yards, which makes me want to target Alabama’s runners in what should be a positive matchup. However, I’m admittedly not super comfortable taking one of the actual halfbacks’ prop lines since by all means, this is a split backfield in which around 10-12 carries seems to be the upper limit for the player with the hot hand. As such, I’m looking at quarterback Keelon Russell to make an impact on the ground instead. He’s third on the team in rushing yards this season with 231, averaging 33.0 yards per game on the ground. For what it’s worth, he’s also produced five rushing touchdowns and has eight or more rush attempts in five of his seven appearances, so he isn’t afraid to use his legs. Russell has reached at least 25 rushing yards in four of those seven outings. He doesn’t need high volume to reach 25+ rushing yards in this game and could get there on just a handful of tries, so I like targeting the opposing defense in this fashion.
Marcel Reed 180+ passing yards (-125)
The play of Marcel Reed has left a lot to be desired under center for the Aggies this season. There was some thought that he’d improve heading into 2026, but it’s clear that losing an NFL-caliber wideout hurt, among other issues. Now, the quarterback has a low 55.7% completion rate with 1,227 passing yards and seven touchdowns to six interceptions; it’s easy to see how this has held the team back over the last few weeks. While he’s averaging only 175.3 passing yards per game, I actually do think Reed can get to at least 180 this week for one key reason. Texas A&M is a 13.5-point underdog on the road here, meaning the offense will likely have to air the ball out a ton to keep this game competitive. Reed threw the ball 49 times in a loss to Kentucky, 39 times in a loss to Missouri and 26 times in a loss to LSU. He posted 236 and 189 passing yards in the first two of those contests, but produced only 106 in the LSU loss. Alabama’s defense is strong, but I do feel pretty confident that sheer volume due to game script may be enough to get Reed to 180 here.
