Best NHL Player Props for October 22
Macklin Celebrini 2+ Points (+180)
Celebrini has totaled five multi-point games so far this season, and he’ll get to face a tired Senators team that will likely be without Linus Ullmark, as he exited Wednesday night’s game with an injury. Samuel Ersson took Ullmark’s place, and he will likely start again tonight on a back-to-back. Ersson sports an abysmal 4.70 GAA and .831 SV% this season, and out of 65 eligible goaltenders, he ranks 61st in goals saved above expected and 62nd in SV% above expected. This is truly an elite spot for Celebrini and the Sharks tonight. He leads San Jose in nearly every category and is the only player with double-digit points so far, and he ranks 13th in the NHL in points per 60.
Matt Boldy 4+ Shots on Goal (-120)
It may be the Kirill Kaprizov show in Minnesota right now, but Boldy has still made his presence known, tying for second in the NHL in total shots on goal (44). Tonight, he draws a matchup against the worst goaltending team in the league, the Flames, a club that has also allowed the sixth-most shots against per game. Boldy has cleared this line in two of his past three outings, and he leads all Wild forwards in shifts per game. He also ranks 14th in the NHL in 5v5 shots on goal per 60, 18th in 5v5 shot attempts per 60 and should see plenty of power play opportunities tonight, considering the Flames rank second in penalty minutes per game.
Alex DeBrincat 4+ Shots on Goal (+100)
DeBrincat has cleared this line in four of his past five outings, while averaging 10.8 shots attempts. Tonight, the Red Wings will take on the Canucks, which is possibly the best matchup in the entire league when it comes to shots on goal props. Vancouver has allowed the most shots on goal against per game this season, and it has especially struggled against opposing wingers, ranking first in shots allowed to the position at both left and right wing. DeBrincat leads the Red Wings in numerous categories, and considering he has already netted six goals this season, I don’t expect the offensive aggression to slow down any time soon. He has totaled double-digit shot attempts in four of his past five outings, and he ranks 12th in the NHL in 5v5 shot attempts per 60.
