Dancing With the Stars Season 35 Power Rankings After Week 6

Updated:

By: Jeff Pratt

Following Dedication Night on Dancing With the Stars Season 35, the frontrunners have continued to pull away, and a clear top two has emerged. Scores are only one part of the equation: judges’ feedback, week-to-week growth and fan support all factor into our latest power rankings of the season. Here are our Dancing With the Stars power rankings following Week 6, from the celebrities best positioned to contend for the Mirrorball Trophy to those who need a major breakthrough in the weeks ahead.

Dancing With the Stars Season 35 Power Rankings

#10: Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess (-1)

Week 6 Score: 32

Tyler delivered a touching tribute to mothers, honoring his late mother, Andrea, and was joined by his fiancée, Tate Madden, as the couple revealed a pregnancy and the baby’s gender following the number! The former Bachelorette contestant has been a positive surprise throughout this season. Every remaining contestant has a strong fan base and has improved week-over-week, however, leaving Tyler in jeopardy over the coming episodes.

#9: Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold (+1)

Week 6 Score: 32

Connor finally bounced back on Dedication Night, halting a multi-week skid. His tribute to his father was great, as the comedian and Rylee Arnold delivered a solid Viennese waltz. Connor’s fan base has proven strong enough to carry him even when he’s not performing at the highest level, so he could be safe for a few more weeks.

#8: Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik (-1)

Week 6 Score: 32

Rest in peace, Uncle Phil! Tatyana put together one of the more memorable Dedication Night performances, bringing in her TV sibling and DWTS co-host Alfonso Ribeiro to honor their late Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star James Avery. It was an impressive Viennese waltz, as Tatyana continues to improve in each subsequent episode.

#7: Jackson Olson and Emma Slater (+1)

Week 6 Score: 32

After appearing to be on the fringe of elimination for a few weeks, Jackson has bounced back in a big way and delivered two consecutive great performances. The quickstep is the perfect dance for a performer like the Savannah Banana. His recent outings should be enough to secure his safety for a few weeks.

#6: Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa (–)

Week 6 Score: 36

In arguably the most anticipated performance of the night, Julia delivered an extremely heartfelt tribute to her 10 Things I Hate About You co-star, the late, great Heath Ledger. To make matters even more emotional, she and Ezra danced to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” a reference to Ledger’s iconic performance in the film. Stiles may not be as talented as our top five this season, but she could certainly outlast a few of them.

#5: Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson (-1)

Week 6 Score: 36

Harry didn’t do anything to deserve falling one spot in this week’s power rankings; it’s more about what another celebrity did to earn a bump. The Grey’s Anatomy star proved that dancing runs in the family, as his wife Shelby performed a significant portion of the number with him while his parents watched on, and the two parents brought their daughter in at the end. Harry had received criticism in recent weeks that he couldn’t shake his hip-hop influence (from myself included), but that certainly wasn’t the case in this foxtrot.

#4: Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy (-1)

Week 6 Score: 37

Jenna is a pro, simple as that. After a few tumultuous weeks, including critical feedback and the suspension of her partner, she delivered her second consecutive truly phenomenal performance, pairing with Alan Bersten for a Viennese waltz. It remains to be seen how big of a fan base Jenna has compared to the other elite performers in this competition, which will determine how far she can go, but she has all the talent in the world.

#3: Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas (+2)

Week 6 Score: 35

That performance absolutely rocked. I was a little wary when Maura dedicated her performance to the entire country of Ireland, but that’s how you back up such a massive proclamation. The judges were a little lower on her and Mark’s dance than the general public, but this felt like a DWTS number that will stand the test of time.

#2: Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach (-1)

Week 6 Score: 37

Ezra is going to be fighting for the Mirrorball in a race that could go down to the wire, and if he wins it, he’ll deserve it. The Paralympic gold medalist has produced one fantastic performance after another, this time honoring his mother in a touching tribute. There’s not much more to say, this kid is a star.

#1: Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov (+1)

Week 6 Score: 38

Best performance of the season. Enough said.

Amber has been the most impressive dancer throughout Season 35. She opened the competition relying on her incredible athleticism, and has gradually evolved into a complete performer, showcasing fluidity, tempo and technique. All of that shined in her latest performance, a contemporary tribute to — and with — her sister that honored how she helped drag her out of the darkest period of her life. It was as emotional as it was brilliant. Amber Glenn, the Mirrorball may be yours to lose.
