Cowboys at Packers DraftKings Showdown Captain Picks
Christian Watson ($13,500 CP): Chicago had no answer for Green Bay’s passing game last week. Watson caught six passes for 143 yards and both of Jordan Love’s touchdown passes in the 31-7 win. For the season, he has 26 catches for 474 yards and six touchdowns. That works out to 18.2 yards per catch, so any single catch can turn into a score. Dallas has not intercepted a pass all year, and its cornerback group is thin. Cobie Durant is out, and Joey Porter Jr. and Ameer Speed are both questionable. The Captain slot pays 1.5 times the points, and Watson is the Packer most likely to turn one big play into a big night.
Cowboys at Packers DraftKings Showdown UTIL Plays
CeeDee Lamb ($10,800): Tampa Bay shut down Dallas’s top receiver last week, holding him to two catches for nine yards. One game earlier, Lamb had 17 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown against Houston. For the season, he has 39 catches for 507 yards and four touchdowns. His thigh injury should not slow him on Sunday night, since he practiced fully and has no injury designation. The 53.5-point total is one of the highest of the week, which points to a lot of passing from both teams. Lamb’s $10,800 price is the highest on the slate, but he should see plenty of targets if the game turns into a shootout.
Jordan Love ($9,400): Chicago had no answer for Green Bay’s deep passing game last week. Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns, and both scores went to Christian Watson. Six of his eight throws that traveled 20 or more yards downfield were caught, for 258 yards. In the first four games, he had completed only four of 18 deep throws, so last week was a big jump. For the season, he has 1,408 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. Dallas has not intercepted a pass all year, which lowers the risk of a costly mistake. At $9,400, Love costs less than both Lamb and Dak Prescott.
Tucker Kraft ($6,800): Green Bay’s tight end caught six of seven targets for 42 yards and a touchdown against Tampa Bay in Week 4. For the season, Kraft has 20 catches for 212 yards and one touchdown on 29 targets. That one touchdown came in the Tampa game, so the slow start is already built into his low price. At $6,800, he costs less than Love, Watson and Lamb, which helps with the $50,000 cap. The 53.5-point total gives him a chance to score in a game with plenty of points.
Cowboys at Packers DraftKings Showdown Fades
Dak Prescott ($10,400): Tampa Bay’s blitzes knocked Dallas’s quarterback off rhythm last Thursday. Prescott completed 58 percent of his passes for 316 yards, down from about 70 percent over the first four games. He also threw two interceptions, and both passes were tipped. For the season, he has 1,381 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Those touchdown numbers are low for the second-highest FLEX salary on the slate. Javonte Williams has scored six rushing touchdowns, so Dallas has been getting many of its points on the ground. Prescott also would not fit under the $50,000 cap next to the four picks above.
Cowboys at Packers DraftKings Showdown Strategy and Prediction
Green Bay’s passing game is hot, and Dallas is short on cornerbacks. Expect a close, high-scoring game that the Packers win at home.
