DraftKings NFL Millionaire Picks: Best DFS Plays for Week 6

Quarterback

Bryce Young ($5,700)

It has been a disastrous few weeks for the Philadelphia Eagles, coming off back-to-back heartbreaking losses and injuries taking a major toll on the roster. Jalen Hurts will miss this week’s matchup with a blood clot issue, Saquon Barkley will remain sidelined and the offensive line remains banged up. Philadelphia is also returning from an overseas matchup, while Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers are coming off their bye week. Young has taken a significant step forward in his production this season as things begin to click for the former No. 1 overall pick in his fourth season in the league. Through his opening four games, Young has thrown for 1,268 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, while adding one score with his legs. The Alabama product currently trails only Josh Allen for the most fantasy points per game at the quarterback position with 24.7 based on DraftKings scoring. He has thrown for at least 287 passing yards in each of his first four games and will face off with an Eagles defense that currently ranks 26th in total passing yards allowed, 20th in net yards per pass attempt, and 10th in passing touchdowns conceded. This feels like a great opportunity for Carolina to build off their strong start against a beat-up Eagles team with Young at the helm. Expect plenty of scoring chances and for the Panthers star to outperform his $5,700 price point by a comfortable margin.

Other Considerations: Josh Allen ($7,500), Drake Maye ($6,600), Jacoby Brissett ($5,800), Tyler Shough ($5,600)

Running Back

Jonathan Taylor ($8,000)

He doesn’t receive the same level of buzz as some of the other elite running backs, but Jonathan Taylor has a fair case for the best running back in the NFL. Through the opening five games, Taylor has rushed for 398 yards with six touchdowns and tallied an additional 106 yards through the air. The Colts’ star is averaging 19.7 fantasy points per game, which ranks ninth among running backs this season. He will look to add to this in a matchup against an 0-5 Titans team. Tennessee currently ranks 17th in rushing yards allowed and 14th in rushing touchdowns conceded, but 31st in rushing attempts they have faced. Indianapolis is not satisfied with their 2-3 start to the season, and this is a valuable chance to pick up a comfortable win. Expect the Colts to control this game and play with the lead, providing an increased level of opportunity for Taylor to run the football. The 27-year-old led the NFL in carries and rushing touchdowns last year and still has not played to his peak this season. Even still, he has tallied 22+ fantasy points in three of the five games this year, and could be in line for his best performance of the season in this favorable matchup.

Kyren Williams ($6,800)

There were some fears coming into the season that Blake Corum would make a legitimate push for the lead running back spot on this Los Angeles Rams’ offense. But through the opening five games, Kyren Williams has led the team with 70 rush attempts for 343 rushing yards, 27 receptions for 200 receiving yards, and five total touchdowns. For comparison, Corum has tallied 38 rushing attempts for 181 yards, seven receptions for 73 yards, and just one score. Williams is currently producing 22.1 fantasy points per game based on DraftKings scoring, which ranks fifth among running backs and 17th among all position players. The Notre Dame product has a valuable chance to add to this as Los Angeles faces off with the Arizona Cardinals this week. Arizona enters with a 1-4 record on the year and ranks dead last in points allowed. They also rank 23rd in total rushing yards allowed, 22nd in rushing touchdowns conceded, and 21st in net yards per rush attempt. The Rams have one of the most dynamic offenses in the league and should be playing with the lead for the bulk of this matchup. Expect Williams to see an uptick in carries and have a clear path to maintaining his place as one of the top fantasy football options at his position.

Other Considerations: Bijan Robinson ($8,700), D’Andre Swift ($6,700), Bucky Irving ($6,200), Cam Skattebo ($5,400)

Wide Receivers

Jalen Coker ($5,900)

While plenty of the promising outlook for the Panthers was discussed earlier in this article with Bryce Young, pairing him with Jalen Coker provides a chance to double dip in terms of production. Coker has found his stride alongside Young, recording 18 receptions for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns across his three games played. His 18.4 fantasy points per game based on DraftKings scoring currently ranks 12th among wide receivers. While the Eagles’ defense is not as beat up as the offensive side of the ball, expect Philadelphia to struggle moving the football, creating additional opportunities for Carolina’s offense. Philadelphia entered the season with the expectation of holding a defensive-minded identity but has not lived up to this reputation thus far, ranking 14th in points allowed, 24th in total yards conceded, and 26th in passing yards allowed. Coker saw nine targets and eight receptions in each of the first two games, before leaving Week 3 early with a quad injury. Coker has had some additional time to rest due to the bye week and should be expected to pick up right where he left off. Expect Young to look his way frequently and benefit from both ends of this production.

D.K. Metcalf ($5,700)

Still one of the most physically intimidating wide receivers in the NFL, DK Metcalf and the Steelers will prepare to match up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. While Tampa Bay is coming off a gutsy win over the Cowboys last week without their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield remains sidelined again in Week 6. Tampa Bay has a stout rushing defense which ranks second in total rushing yards allowed, second in net yards per rush attempt and second in rushing touchdowns conceded. But they have been vulnerable against the pass, ranking 20th in passing yards conceded, 23rd in net yards per pass attempt, and 18th in passing touchdowns conceded. Expect the Steelers to have this circled in their gameplan and for DK Metcalf to be the biggest beneficiary. The two-time Pro Bowler has tallied 19 receptions for 225 yards and one touchdown this year. Metcalf has also been targeted 37 times, leading Pittsburgh’s receiving corps, and has narrowly missed on several opportunities to produce bigger numbers. His 10.3 fantasy points per game based on DraftKings scoring currently ranks 39th among wide receivers, but he is a few missed opportunities from being significantly higher on this list. Aaron Rodgers still has the arm strength and willingness to air it out deep down the field at a high rate. Count on this being an ideal matchup to capitalize on and for the star wide receiver to be in a position to outperform his $5,700 price point.

Keon Coleman ($4,900)

It has not been an ideal start to Keon Coleman’s NFL career, but the former 33rd-overall pick has started to find his footing in his third season in the league. Through the opening five games, Coleman has tallied 15 receptions on 18 targets for 224 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. His 10.5 fantasy points per game currently ranks 35th among all wide receivers. Josh Allen is playing at one of the highest levels in all of football and has done a nice job putting his playmakers in a position to succeed. This effort will continue this week as Buffalo prepares to face off with the Las Vegas Raiders. Entering Week 6, the Raiders hold a 3-2 record but have struggled defensively. They currently rank 22nd in opponents points allowed, 24th in total passing yards conceded, 25th in net yards per pass attempt, and 27th in passing touchdowns conceded. Coleman has tallied touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, making use of his 6-foot-4 frame in the red zone. Expect this production to continue, making Coleman well worth his $4,900 price point in a game where Buffalo should have plenty of scoring opportunities.

Other Considerations: Drake London ($7,000), Malik Nabers ($6,500), Joshua Downs ($6,500), Romeo Doubs ($5,200)

Tight End

Isaiah Likely ($4,800)

A pleasant surprise this season has been the production of Isaiah Likely. The 26-year-old followed John Harbaugh to New York with a new contract and is putting his full skill set on display in an expanded role. Through the opening five games, Likely has tallied 33 receptions on 48 targets for 284 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He is coming off 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns last week, and if anything, it feels the quarterback change has been beneficial to his outlook with Jameis Winston under center. Likely is averaging 17.1 fantasy points per game, which currently ranks third among all tight ends. He trails only Brock Bowers and Trey McBride. New York will face off with the New Orleans Saints this week, who currently rank 31st in points per game allowed and have given up the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. It feels his price still hasn’t caught up to how effective Likely has been this year, so getting him at a $4,800 price point is great value for the Week 6 matchup.

Other Considerations: Trey McBride ($6,700), Dalton Kincaid ($5,100), Mark Andrews ($4,200)

Flex

Braelon Allen ($5,700)

Jets running back Breece Hall will be sidelined again this week with a quad injury, paving the way for an expanded role for Braelon Allen in the New York offense. The 22-year-old saw his season end early due to injury last year, but has some real explosiveness in his game. Through the opening five games this year, Allen has tallied 57 rush attempts for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in the previous matchup against the Browns, and he should be in line for the same type of workload. New York will face off with the New England Patriots this week, who have had a more up-and-down season than expected. Divisional rivalries always carry some additional intensity, and there will be plenty of physicality in this matchup. But the level of volume that Allen will see is enough to earn the $5,700 price point, especially given the flashes of production he has shown.

Defense & Special Teams

Carolina Panthers ($2,500)

Sometimes choosing a defense is more about targeting an opponent than the defensive unit. The Panthers face an Eagles team with Tanner McKee making his third career start and Saquon Barkley still sidelined. Philadelphia has had issues moving the football while at full strength, and the outlook becomes even more challenging without Jalen Hurts and Barkley. This is especially the case given that Carolina has shown some positive defensive signs. They are averaging 2.7 sacks per game and generating 1.3 takeaways per contest. Carolina ranks seventh among defensive units in fantasy points per game at 7.8 per contest based on DraftKings scoring. Expect some clear growing pains from this Eagles offense and for the inexperience of McKee to be evident. Count on the Panthers having a great chance to add to their strong start to the season and for the $2,500 price point to be a great value selection.

Other Considerations: Chiefs ($3,600), Ravens ($3,200), Giants ($2,800)
