Best College Football Underdog Picks for Week 7 on Saturday 10/17/26

We’re getting into the heart of this college football season, with just over a handful of weeks remaining before postseason play. It’s a 12-team bracket (for now), so any slip-up would prove costly for most contending squads. That means avoiding potential trap games down the stretch against less talented opponents. Still, in a sport as volatile as this one, there’s always an underdog waiting in the wings.

Let’s break down two plus money picks on DraftKings Sportsbook that could pull off an upset on Saturday.

Best CFB Upset Picks for Week 7

Kentucky ML (+195) at Oklahoma

What a start it’s been for Kentucky, college football’s 15th-ranked team as of the latest AP Poll. Last weekend, Will Stein’s crew pulled off an upset of #22 LSU, eking out a 35-34 win in overtime. It’s yet another massive result for the Wildcats, a team that most outside of Lexington crossed off at the start of the season. Granted, it hasn’t been the cleanest brand of football. UK is allowing 382.2 yards per game to opponents, third-worst in the SEC. Fortunately, the offense has posted a respectable 34.7 points and 414.2 yards per game.

If there’s one major positive for the Wildcats, they don’t beat themselves. This group has racked up the fewest penalties in the SEC. To boot, quarterback Kenny Minchey has only thrown one interception so far. That’ll need to continue this weekend against one of college football’s stingiest defenses. Oklahoma is giving up just 266.8 yards per game, ninth-best in the nation. However, there’s two sides of the ball.

OU’s offense has been atrocious, hampered by subpar quarterback play from John Mateer. It’s not as if it’s the result of a difficult schedule, either. The Sooners only managed to score 14 points at home against New Mexico. Last week’s win over #7 Texas was huge, but it was primarily the result of a strong defensive effort. Oklahoma only notched 238 yards of offense, needing a few timely Arch Manning turnovers to pull off the victory. Riding the high of an emotional win, this is a prime spot for an upset. At nearly two-to-one odds, Kentucky offers significant value for bettors this evening.

Wisconsin ML (+120) at UCLA

Fresh off the heels of a dismal four-win campaign, Wisconsin has already matched that total in 2026. Even more impressive, the team’s only loss during five games was a neutral site matchup vs. #2 Notre Dame. Old Dominion transfer Colton Joseph has been a massive upgrade at quarterback. The dual-threat gives an otherwise middling offense instant playmaking out of the pocket. Through five games, he’s thrown for 1,132 yards, ran for 262 more, and racked up 13 total touchdowns.

However, the strength of this Badgers squad comes on the other side of the ball. This defense is nasty, offering little reprieve to opposing offenses. Wisconsin ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 267.2 yards allowed per game. Just as impressive, this front seven has coughed up a minuscule 3.17 yards per rush attempt. That bodes well for their chances at stopping UCLA’s Wayne Knight, one of the conference’s best running backs. At quarterback, Nico Iamaleava’s season-ending knee injury forces the Bruins to play backup Ty Dieffenbach. Even though it’s a home game, this isn’t an ideal spot to make your first FBS start.

We’ve seen Wisconsin pull off an upset before with their 24-20 road win at Penn State. This is a step up in competition, but certainly not insurmountable. That’s especially true with Iamaleava on the sidelines. At plus money, the Badgers possess moneyline potential on Saturday.
