Best NHL Player Props Today

Brandon Hagel 4+ Shots on Goal (+110)

A player that is aggressive offensively at plus odds with an elite matchup? Yeah, sign me up. Hagel ranks second in the NHL in 5v5 shots per 60 and first in 5v5 shot attempts per 60, and New York is tied for the fifth-most total 5v5 shots against. This situation almost feels too good to be true, but Hagel leads the Bolts in points, ice time per game and shots. Additionally, New York ranks sixth in penalty minutes taken per 60, while Tampa Bay ranks third in penalty minutes drawn per 60, so Hagel should see additional opportunities to get pucks on net on the man advantage.

Tim Stutzle 2+ Points (+205)

These odds are simply too good to pass up for a guy who has four multi-point games across the first six outings of the new season. Stutzle has put the team on his back thus far, totaling five goals and five assists, with six of those points coming while playing at 5v5. Ottawa has been a middling 5v5 team so far, ranking 15th in 5v5 goals per 60, but it draws a matchup against a St. Louis team that has allowed the seventh-most 5v5 goals against per 60. Stutzle is the only Senators player with more than five points, and he ranks first among all forwards in ice time per game. Joel Hofer likely draws the start for St. Louis tonight, and while he sports a 1.68 GAA and .930 SV% this season, he has posted sub-.900 save percentages across his last two outings.

Kyle Connor 4+ Shots on Goal (-110)

This has similar vibes to the Hagel prop, as Connor ranks fourth in 5v5 shots per 60 and 17th in 5v5 shot attempts per 60. He has cleared 4+ SOG in all but one outing this season, and he draws a matchup against a Wild team that has allowed the 11th-most total 5v5 shots against. He has more than double the total shots of his next closest teammate, and no Jets forward has logged more ice time than him. Minnesota ranks eighth in penalty minutes taken per 60, and Winnipeg ranks fifth in PP%, with Connor leading the way with 4 power play points, and he should see easy shot opportunities tonight. I also like to attack elite offensive players when the opposing team is set to start a goaltender making his season debut, and the Wild have given Calvin Pickard the nod, who was very shaky last season.
