Vikings vs. Saints NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 5

Sunday afternoon’s loaded NFL Week 5 slate features an NFC showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints at Caesars Superdome, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET.

The Vikings (4–0, 1st NFC North) preserved their perfect record with last week’s 15–10 home win over the Miami Dolphins. The Saints (1–3, 3rd NFC South) have dropped back-to-back games after a 45–24 blowout loss at home to the Atlanta Falcons.

Minnesota is a 2.5-point road favorite with -130 moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. New Orleans is a +110 underdog, with the game total set at O/U 41.5 points.

Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Vikings and the Saints.

Vikings vs. Saints NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 5

Aaron Jones Sr. 80+ Rush Yards (+128)

With Kyler Murray’s continued struggles, compounded by the potential absences of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison (both questionable), the Vikings will likely keep pounding the ball in Week 5. The run game is especially enticing against a defense as porous as the one in New Orleans. The Saints rank dead last in scoring defense (32 points per game) and have allowed the NFL’s third-most opponent rush yards (591) on the fourth-most yards per carry (5).

That should mean another productive day at the office for Aaron Jones Sr. The veteran running back has seized control of Minnesota’s backfield with Jordan Mason on IR, handling 72 carries for 297 yards (4.1 YPC) and a touchdown early in the season. Jones has rushed for 80+ yards in two of his last three games, most recently totaling 94 yards on 20 carries in Week 4 against the Dolphins.

Chris Olave 80+ Receiving Yards (-123)

Although the Vikings have largely been successful against the pass this season — allowing the NFL’s second-fewest receptions (67) — they’ve constantly been hurt by big plays. Minnesota heads into Week 5 ranked 29th in opponent yards per reception (13.2), allowing 12 catches for 20+ yards and four for 40+ yards. Green Bay’s Christian Watson burned the team’s secondary for an 81-yard touchdown in Week 1, the second-longest reception of the season so far.

Now the Vikings must blanket one of the game’s most elusive pass-catchers.

Chris Olave has had a tremendous start to the year, trailing only Dallas’ CeeDee Lamb for the NFL lead in targets (48), receptions (35), and receiving yards (491). The former Ohio State standout paces the league in receiving yards per game (122.8) and 20+ yard receiving plays (8). With quarterback Tyler Shough dialed in on the star receiver, Olave has posted 80+ receiving yards in every game this year — highlighted by a career-high 182 yards on 10 catches (18.2 YPC) in Week 1 against the Lions.
