Parker Washington opened the season with three straight double-digit PPR games, then disappeared in Cincinnati with one catch for seven yards. Fantasy managers now have to decide whether Week 4 was a blip or a warning, with a Philadelphia defense that has given receivers plenty of room arriving in Jacksonville. Find out whether you should start or sit Parker Washington in Week 5.
Parker Washington Start or Sit Advice for Week 5
The season-long role is what matters here, and it remains impressive. Washington owns a 26.0% share of Jacksonville’s targets at 6.5 per game, and he carries 39.3% of the team’s air yards, well clear of Jakobi Meyers at 24.4%. He also has four red zone targets and two touchdowns. In an offense spreading the ball among Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr. and Brenton Strange, Washington is the receiver Trevor Lawrence keeps returning to, especially down the field.
That context softens the Week 4 dud. He drew three targets against the Bengals and finished with zero net air yards, a strange outlier for a player whose game is built on depth. One quiet afternoon does not erase a three-week stretch of 19.3, 16.8 and 13.0 PPR points.
The matchup sets up well. Philadelphia allows 35.2 PPR points per game to wide receivers against a league average of 32.0, giving up 13.0 catches and 162.2 yards per game, both above league norms. The Eagles have surrendered 13 red zone targets to receivers, well above the league average of 8.8. That production came against the Commanders, Titans, Bears and Rams, a schedule throwing right around league average, so the numbers are not inflated by a run of explosive passing attacks.
The pass rush has been quiet as well. Philadelphia has just four sacks in four games, less than half the league average of 8.7, and Jonathan Greenard did not practice Wednesday or Thursday with an ankle injury. Extra time in the pocket is exactly what a field stretcher needs to get open downfield.
The Biggest Fantasy Risk for Parker Washington in Week 5
Jacksonville’s passing volume is the limiting factor. The Jaguars are throwing just 26.0 times per game and generating 25.0 targets per game, so even a 26% share produces a modest number of looks. Lawrence has been efficient, with a 111.2 team passer rating and an 81.8% red zone conversion rate, but there is not much margin when the overall pie is this small.
Game script could shrink it further. Philadelphia’s offense has sputtered, scoring 18.8 points per game, and DeVonta Smith, Hollywood Brown and Saquon Barkley all missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. If the Eagles cannot move the ball, Jacksonville may lean on the ground game with a lead, which leaves Washington dependent on a handful of downfield shots.
Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell is also trending toward playing after upgrading to a full practice Thursday, so Philadelphia’s secondary should be close to intact.
Fantasy Outlook for Parker Washington in Week 5
Washington is a Strong Start in Week 5. His role as Jacksonville’s primary downfield target is firmly established, and Philadelphia has allowed receivers to produce all season while generating little pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
The Week 4 stumble and the Jaguars’ low passing volume keep him from being a locked-in high-end play, so expect some weekly variance. Still, fantasy managers should slot him into their lineup with confidence as a solid WR2 or high-end FLEX with a ceiling that can win a week.
