Week 5 of the NFL is full of exciting matchups. The player prop market is full of different ways to get in on the action.
Without further ado, here are three of the best player props for NFL Week 5, including plays on Aaron Jones, Emanuel Wilson and Omarion Hampton.
Best NFL Player Prop Bets and Picks for Week 5
Vikings at Saints: Aaron Jones 94+ Rushing + Receiving Yards (-115)
Aaron Jones came into the season expecting to split carries with Jordan Mason. However, Mason got injured in Week 1 and has not returned yet. Aaron Jones is getting almost all of the carries for the Vikings in Mason’s absence. Over the past three weeks, he is averaging 20 carries per game. He is also averaging 85.7 rushing yards per game over those three games. Jones should have one of his best games of the season against the Saints. New Orleans ranks dead last in the NFL in defensive EPA/rush and defensive rushing success rate. They also rank 30th in rushing yards per game allowed.
Not only has Jones been running the ball well, but he has gotten involved in the passing game the past couple of weeks as well. Over the past two games, Jones has nine catches for 68 yards. He should catch a couple of passes in this game against New Orleans and rack up yards on the ground. That should get him over this combined prop number.
Seahawks vs. 49ers: Emanuel Wilson 64+ Rushing Yards (-113)
Emanuel Wilson is stepping up as the new RB1 for the Seahawks. This will be his third game this season in that role. Jadarian Price has dealt with a chest injury that now has him on the IR. The Seahawks brought in Joe Mixon for a workout, but he failed his physical. That means this should be Wilson’s role for the foreseeable future.
Wilson has done well in the two games where he has had the RB1 position. In both of those games, he got 21 carries. He rushed for 92 yards against the Cardinals and 81 yards against the Chargers. Those figures are well over his rushing yards line set for this week against the 49ers. That is despite San Francisco ranking 31st in the NFL in defensive rushing success rate.
The 49ers have decent run defense numbers on the surface because they have led in every game and teams have been forced to throw against them. However, those rushing success rate numbers prove that teams have been able to pick up key yards against the 49ers on the ground when they need them. The 49ers are now underdogs in Seattle, and the Seahawks should be able to run the ball throughout this game. Wilson should get a healthy dose of carries once again and clear this number.
Chargers vs. Broncos: Omarion Hampton Anytime Touchdown (+170)
Omarion Hampton was expected to have a massive breakout season. Things have not quite gone according to plan for Hampton or the Chargers. Los Angeles is 0-4, and this is a desperation spot to salvage its season at home against the Broncos. Jim Harbaugh should get his team motivated for this game, and the Chargers should put forward a good effort.
The Broncos’ defense has not been the elite unit that it’s been the past couple of seasons. Denver has particularly struggled against the run. The Broncos rank 31st in defensive EPA/rush and 29th in rushing yards per game allowed. The Chargers should feed their promising young running back in this game.
While the season has been disappointing for Hampton so far and he has been splitting carries with Keaton Mitchell, Hampton has still been getting the goal-line touches. He has scored a touchdown in three of four games this season and has all of the Chargers’ rushing touchdowns. Hampton should find the end zone against the Broncos in this pivotal game.
