Top NASCAR Pick6 Picks for the Bank of America 400

Denny Hamlin | Finishing Position: 4.5

Pick6 Play: Better

Rain is constant in NASCAR these days. October hurricanes in Charlotte are a routine. Saturday was a wash. Here we are again. Drivers have got what they got. How’s your sim setup? Hamlin didn’t grow up on iRacing, but he embraced the technology. The series shifted during the COVID era. Hamlin’s career was sliding. He adapted, and now he’s on top and could be for another decade. He’s the Tom Brady of NASCAR.

The rain-out metric lineup puts the No. 11 JGR Toyota in 12th, and Charlotte is a track where that car runs near the front. Hamlin has averaged a running position of sixth in five Gen-7 starts at Charlotte, the best of any driver with at least three starts. In the Coca-Cola 600 in May he started 11th, ran fourth on average and finished third.

He started first at Las Vegas and led 39 of the first 80 laps before a spin and a fuel pressure problem dropped him to 16th. He finished third at Kansas the week before and is second in the Chase standings, 40 points behind Kyle Larson. Hamlin needs this one. He can’t let Larson run away with the championship.

William Byron | Finishing Position: 9

Pick6 Play: Better

The last two 1.5-mile ovals both ended in the top 10, with a seventh at Kansas and a sixth at Las Vegas, and Byron started eighth in each. He starts sixth on Sunday. Toyota’s totalitarian rule is over. Chevy may not have caught up, but Hendrick has.

Charlotte has suited Byron in the Gen-7 car. In five starts at the heart of NASCAR, and just down the road from Byron’s childhood home (young William Byron was Jimmie Johnson’s neighbor), he has an average running position of seventh, second only to Hamlin among drivers with at least three starts. His average finish is 10th. In the Coca-Cola 600 in May, he started 31st, ran 20th on average and still finished ninth. In the three 600-miles Gen-7 races from 2023 to 2025, Byron was the runner-up twice and finished third.
