UPDATE: Moore is doubtful to return to Sunday’s game.
Bills WR DJ Moore is in the locker room and is questionable to return to Sunday’s game between the Bills and the Patriots with a shoulder injury.
Moore had entered Week 4 without a game designation despite practicing on a limited basis throughout the week with a shoulder injury. Whether Sunday’s exit involves that same shoulder remains unconfirmed.
Moore had already fought through one abbreviated afternoon this season, leaving Buffalo’s Week 2 win over Detroit with a shoulder injury before returning against the Chargers. Josh Allen promptly went back to him, directing eight of his first 20 targets Moore’s way in Week 3. Moore delivered 12.7 PPR points and entered Sunday with 66 more receiving yards than any other Bills wideout, an encouraging foothold in his new offense that another injury threatens to loosen.
If Moore misses additional time, Buffalo could distribute more of the passing work through its tight ends. The Bills entered Sunday using multiple tight ends on a league-high 56.5% of offensive plays, giving Allen an established means of attacking New England while Moore’s availability remains unsettled. For fantasy managers, that personnel preference complicates the search for a direct replacement at wide receiver.
