Studs
Alexander Hernandez ($9,100)
In an intriguing Lightweight bout on the UFC 332 early prelims, Alexander Hernandez takes on former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos. Dos Anjos, 41, is returning after nearly two years away from the sport. He is on a three-fight losing streak and last beat Bryan Barberena in December 2022. Hernandez, eight years younger, is coming off a loss to Rafa Garcia in April but won four before that.
Hernandez has a two-inch reach advantage and is slightly taller than RDA (5’9″ vs. 5’8″). Dos Anjos is the more efficient striker (47% vs. 40%), but Hernandez lands more significant strikes per minute (4.23 vs. 3.48). On the ground, Dos Anjos averages 0.95 more takedowns, with both fighters at 35 percent takedown accuracy.
Although Dos Anjos is a legend of the sport, his best days are behind him. In his last few fights, he has struggled to keep up with younger fighters, and I see that trend continuing at UFC 332. Hernandez has scored at least 91 points in his previous three wins. Coming off a loss, Hernandez will likely enter this fight extra motivated to pick up a victory.
Ateba Gautier ($8,800)
Once again, Gautier has a big physical advantage over his opponent. Gautier stands four inches taller (6’4″ vs. 6’0″) with a six-inch reach advantage (81″ vs. 75″) over Kopylov. Kopylov averages more significant strikes per minute (4.54 vs. 4.32) and has the better striking accuracy (50% vs. 43%). Gautier absorbs 2.48 fewer significant strikes per minute than Kopylov.
Gautier is a generational athlete with power that quickly destroys opponents. Kopylov is powerful as well but hasn’t displayed it much in the last two years. With Gautier’s fast pace and aggressiveness, he will make it extremely difficult for Kopylov to keep up. Gautier is averaging 96 fantasy per fight and has scored 107-plus in three. On the UFC 332 card, Gautier is the eighth-highest-priced fighter ($8,800) but still has the upside to be the top fantasy scorer at the event.
Value Play
Wang Cong ($7,500)
In the Main Event of UFC 332, Wang Cong is facing Natalia Silva for the Vacant Women’s Flyweight Championship. Silva is riding a 14-fight winning streak while Cong is 10-1 and has won four straight. Cong is coming off a unanimous-decision win over Tracy Cortez at UFC 329.
Both fighters in this matchup have a 65″ standing reach, with Cong being taller by two inches (5’6″ vs. 5’4″). Silva and Cong are both primarily strikers, making it unlikely for this fight to go to the ground. On paper, Cong is the better striker, landing more significant strikes (6.82 vs. 4.81) with higher striking accuracy (58% vs. 45%).
Cong has scored at least 90 fantasy points in two of her previous three fights. Her highest total came against Victoria Leonardo in her UFC debut, when she recorded 104.1 points. Although Silva enters this fight with a better resume and more experience, she will likely fall behind because of Cong’s higher output.
